Chris Bivins describes his Tarot Obscura in this way "Each card exists as several different layers, adding depth and texture while also hinting at the layers of meaning that can be found in each turn of the card. Some elements are brought sharply into focus, while others remain obscure or blurred... I wanted the deck, as a whole, to have some dark and edgy feel to it, retaining some of the traditional imagery within a more contemporary framework." This deck is a beautiful example of computer collage and digital image manipulation. Each card has, within its complex texture, a powerful photograph chosen to reflect the tarot imagery, and is subtly colour toned.
