I finally completed, after over a years delay, the portrait of Paracelsus painted by an unidentified flemish artist in the 17th century copying an original portrait by the Flemish artist Quentin Metsys (c.1465-1530) who was a contemporary of Paracelsus. Being in oils the painting is framed without glass. The surface is glazed and varnished. The exterior dimensions of the frame are 15.5 by 12 inches (394 by 305 mm) and the image itself is 12.5 by 9.4 inches (318 by 240 mm). I am willing to sell this for £500 ($1000) plus the cost of postage and insurance. Please email me at adam@alchemywebsite.com if you wish to purchase this work.
In March 2008 I completed work on the small portrait of John Dee, based on the familiar painting in the Ashmolean in Oxford. I have had this framed in a simple warm stained ramin wood frame, which I think reflects and resonates with the general tonalities of the painting. Being in oils the painting is framed without glass. The surface is glazed and varnished. The exterior dimensions of the frame are 14 by 11 inches (350 by 280 mm) and the image itself is 11 by 8 inches (275 by 208 mm). I am willing to sell this for £300 ($600) plus the cost of postage and insurance. Please email me at adam@alchemywebsite.com if you wish to purchase this work.
