"The title for this presentation was borrowed from Jocelyn Godwin's book 'The Greater & Lesser Worlds of Robert Fludd'. I wanted to look at each of these conceptions individually - macrocosm, microcosm, medicine - discuss how the common understanding of these terms has been altered from their original meaning, and how my own perception of them has changed over the years. I look at the structure and dynamics of the cosmos, comparing the open heliocentric globe model with the enclosed flat disc conception of ancient texts, noting that the toroidal field dynamic is common to both points of view. I get into the the true nature of the microcosm, not atoms and molecules, but the science of the human soul, it's structure and dynamics, and explore the differences between material and spiritual approaches to medicine, as exemplified by the traditions of Paracelsus and Fludd."
