I only just found out about and ordered a copy of this book, subtitled "artisan's, knowledge and the common man in Hieronymus Brunschqig's Books on surgery and distillation.
It came out in 2025 from the University of Chicago press. In it Tillmann goes through various aspects of Brunscwig's work, both the surgery and the distillation books, with a section on the quintessence. It is an interesting read, explaining various aspects of the books that I did not know about before.
