The Bibliothèque des philosophes chimiques (“Library of Chemical Philosophers”) is a major French anthology of alchemy and Hermetic philosophy. The work was first published in 1678, traditionally associated with the physician and alchemical compiler William Salmon. A substantially expanded edition appeared in 1741, edited or compiled by Jean Mangin de Richebourg. It brought together numerous older alchemical writings, often translated, excerpted, or organized for French readers.
