Whilst Regardie is noted primarily for his promotion and publication of the Golden Dawn corpus, little is acknowledged of his alchemical interest.
Writing in his youth on alchemy, via his work ‘The Philosophers’ Stone’, which explored alchemy from a psychological view, he later in life came to realise
that alchemical was, as the old masters had indicated, a practical laboratory experience. Having searched for years for someone to teach him he eventually became
involved with Frater Albertus and the Paracelsus Alchemy College. Here he was taught the laboratory alchemy of Paracelsus, Basil Valentine and Hollandus.
With this illustrated presentation we will explore what alchemy is and consider some of the practices which Regardie would have been familiar with as we drill
down into the alchemical practice of Solve et Coagula.
