"That the Form Is Composite and Not Simple is an anonymous chapter from the Greek alchemical corpus, the body of alchemical writings preserved in Byzantine manuscripts and edited by Berthelot and Ruelle in 1887-88. Some manuscripts transmit it within the compilation attributed to the commentator known as Christianos. It asks whether the alchemical art and its product are simple or composite, arguing that every stage of the process contributes to the whole, and cites Hesiod, Aratus, Daniel, Hermes, Democritus and Zosimus."
