Yes, I have just finished making a Deepl translation of the Guldenfalk, and this was for me one of the problem words.
The word 'glass' in Guldenfalk, often suggests a glass vessel or flask, which is not right in the context.
Perhaps 'metallic glassy substance' captures the idea.


It is interesting that it turns up in the Meyrink. He must have read the Guldenfalk when researching his story.
