"A notable historic alchemical manuscript preserved in the University of Amsterdam Heritage Collection (UvA Erfgoed).  The manuscript compiles works attributed to Basilius Valentinus (Basil Valentine), a legendary legendary alchemist and Hermetic figure, along with other classic alchemical texts. It is highly regarded by historians for containing exceptional variants of famous allegorical series, such as the Crowning of Nature (La Couronnement de la Nature) illustrations. These hand-painted miniatures track the sequential stages of the Magnum Opus (Great Work)—symbolizing the creation of the philosopher's stone through icons of crowns, planetary symbols, and geometric flasks."
