- After he left school, the director, writer and producer Heinz Karl Heiland travelled the world, earning his living in adventurous jobs. Among other things he was a cowboy in Mexico, a mechanic on a steamboat, a big-game hunter and a racing-driver. Afterwards he earned his living as a travel journalist
- Heinz-Karl Heiland committed suicide at the age of 56 in 1932.
- His last cinematic works appeared in the 20s while he continued to pursue his passion for travelling, visiting countries such as India, China and Japan.
- His last movies were not financially successful and ultimately the funding for other new movies dried up.
