Mythos, I love the card. And you are not slow at all... I only just started with my cards and there are plenty of people who haven't. And considering all the other things that keep you occupied, I think you did a great job!

What energy! I love your 5 of Wands the figures almost leap out of the page, amazing. What medium did you use? Looks like oils. Absolutely love the light in the card which gives such energy. Clever girl!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sorry - VERY dull - it is just the branch of a tree that had already turned.... The leaves are yellow; the other trees around are either evergreens or later to change colour....

Hi BlueBubble, it's acrylic on canvas board, an experiment from the time I was playing around with fire (in paint only...!)
Thanks for the thumbs up everyone - it can always be kept until we're nearer printing so there will still be cards available for anyone who wants one. Funny and fairly predictable the ones that are left...

Here's is my Emperor. I hope it fits well with the deck, all the cards thus far are so wonderful and I am honored to be in the company of this group.
I was inspired by a song called The Crow and the Butterfly by Shinedown. The image is of the Japanese Emperor Jimmu. He is thought to be a descendant of the sun goddess Amaterasu. According to legend, she gave him 3 symbols of power: a jewel, a sword and a mirror. It is said he may be a myth, but is known as the legendary first emperor of Japan.

Wow that is a really wonderful Emperor image Ambriel! I'm very drawn to it... And thanks for sharing some of your thoughts associated with your card, adding a bit more meaning. I love this Emperor, it’s so regal.

Ambriel, your Emperor has a lot of strength around him and the writing with him was lovely. I love the free use of colour, there is such flow with your image. He is strong, yet has a kind face, which I feel the Emperor should have. I also love the images of the birds, very striking. Great card!

I just realized I wasn't suppose to the name or number on the card...I'll have to go back and do something about that...photoshop it or something...and I apologize for not paying attention.
The colors were not laying as well as I had hoped...as I am such an amateur and know nothing to little about what I am doing when it comes to art...

I like the coloring of your Emperor and his strong stance contrasted with his sweet face. He looks both powerful and gentle. Nice work Ambriel.

Gregory, Mythos, thanks for the lovely words. It's odd how I always felt that the images in a deck should have a very unifying element before taking part in this project, now I feel free enough not only to celebrate all the differences in the images so far, but to offer something very different from my other work.
Gayla, love your Emperor and all the meaningful elements that went into his conception and creation. The arrangement of shapes and colours works so beautifully, and the song being special to you makes the card extra special too.

This last week I've been working on my cards. I am still not sure which version of the 8 of swords I am gonna use, so that one will come later. And I need to change the 4 of swords again  .
But in any case, here is Justice!
I have to admit, I was a bit unsure if I should submit it like this, since it is actually just a photograph that I took. I am not so sure if it is good enough/ if it works. So I would love to hear some feedback on it.
This particular statue is situated on the side of the old city hall in the town where I was born. The city hall dates from 1688. The city hall and particulary this statue is special to me. I always thought, if ever I am doing the Justice card for a deck, I will use this one.
I always think of Justice as card very much connected to real life and society. This statue kinda represents Justice as we see it in the real world. It is not perfect, like the statue is all weathered. But it is very much part of reality and the world we live in. I also believe that the Justice card carries a lot of our history in it, and I kinda hope that is also represented by this image. I also wanted to include the brick stones of the wall in the image, to show how real and old it is.
But as I just wrote, I am doubting. Anyway, here it is:

Dear Truelighth,
I think this is a great image of Justice, both that she is a bit weathered and worn down in time and also how we may feel about Justice sometimes...that it is a noble ideal offered to us from a very long time ago but which feels perhaps a bit distant and hard to attain in the day to day injustices that we experience and read about in the news and politics. I may be rambling here...this cold medicine I'm taking has me feeling fuzzy brained...but in other words I find your Justice card to be very fitting and hits the mark in tone and mood... Thanks for sharing a bit of background on this image too.

And Arnell, thank you for your warm words. Yes, indeed, you are right on. Justice is a noble idea passed down from the past, but seldom seen these days with all the injustices and things going on. Would you mind if I use that in my LWB description?
I am also glad to share a bit of the history of this image. The town where I was born is very old (founded around 1000 AD I think) and has some lovely old buildings, though few. This is one of them.

Truelighth, love The Justice card, please don't knock yourself saying "its just a photo" its great. A very strong image, exactly how Justice should be, also calm and reassuring.

No, not Leiden, Gregory  . I live in Leiden now, but that is not where I was born and raised.
The city hall is in the town called Naaldwijk, in the Netherlands. It is a town in the middle of the triangle between The Hague, Rotterdam and Hook of Holland. In the center of what we in the Netherlands call "The Westland" (where they grow lots of flowers in greenhouses that are exported all over the world. They also call it the "Glass city" due to the many greenhouses.. so yeah, I come from the greenhouse county ).

I like your tractor-driving Knight of Pentacles…and how you have the pentacle disk as a hubcap for the wheel too, nice touch! Very earthy. And not to mention, the impressive ‘head gear’ he’s wearing there. :)

ETA - no - it won't. If I send high res jpgs (even they are pretty big !!) can you turn them into tiffs pretty please ?

Have you tried flattening/merging all the layers before saving as TIFF? (BUT save a copy of the "layered" PSD version first, so you can still edit it in the future) That would generally decrease the size. I'm saying this because the TIFF files Arnell and Truelight sent were pretty small (2-3 megs). But, anyway, if its still too big, then, well, very high-resolution JPEG is ok (for quality, choose maximum - 12 in Photoshop). :)

Hello all :) I'm enjoying working on the pips and here is my Two of Swords. I created this card using Microsoft Powerpoint.
The yellow carnation is the flower of rejection and refusal. Many times when we feel guarded we will reject and refuse to acknowledge a the truth. This is not something someone does intentionally, but the perception of someone in this state is sometimes misunderstood by others.
The color black in the background represents the fear and uncertainty which develops from shielding ourselves from the truth.
The triple moon symbol is meant to remind the seeker it may be time to banish the blindness and send those feelings away.

Just a reminder. The resolution of the images you have to submit to me have to be 300 (or higher) dpi or pixels/inch. Low-resolution (like 72 dpi) might look ok in your monitors, but they will eventually look pixellated in print.
If you use Photoshop, you can check this by going to image in the bar at the top, and then going to image size. It should show the height and width in inches and the resolution in pixels/inch.

It is in my Language of Flowers book which came from a VERY cheap shop for 99 cents, so I am guessing it must be pretty standard !!!
