Thank you Namasteindia,
I appreciate your thoughtful feedback. I’m mainly a collage artist so the background ‘painting’ comes originally from Pre Raphaelite era (Waterhouse) and then it was altered in Photoshop and combined with other details (like ‘puzzle parts’ finding their homes). Was pretty fun actually. I’m glad to hear you are planning to contribute to this project. Hope to see your artwork! Btw, I did the Strength card for the Honeycomb deck, which Major Arcana was yours? I hope they will post the Honeycomb cards online…not sure what their grand plans are with that deck.  Have you heard anything?

Gregory thanks for explaining…now I see what you mean. Sounds like a good way to tackle that issue.
Thanks,
Arnell

Hi Arnell,

I usually use oil on canvas and sometimes water colour pencil on paper. I contributed the Empress and Emperor for the Honeycomb tarot.

I have not heard anything from them till now and no idea what they are planning to do with the image provided.

Do you have any plans for creating your own tarot deck???:ro

Wow Namasteindia, you contributed both the Empress and the Emperor? And they are paintings? I would love to see them... (hint, hint). Did you do the art for your TCF Avatar image and is that a likeness of you? It’s a beautiful Avatar image, Namasteindia.

I have actually made 4 decks and so now just enjoy contributing to the occasional collaborative deck. 2 of my decks are just the Major Arcana: Storyteller and the Lucky Pack Tarot. And two are full 78 card decks: Hero's Journey and Transformational Tarot. They are on my website arnellart.com if you ever want to check them out...
Have you made a deck or are you considering doing so? If so what theme (if any)?
Well I hope you decide to make at least one card for this Ark Tarot. It would be wonderful to see your art for it if you do.
Warmly,
Arnell

Hi Arnell,

I am attaching the Emperor i have made for Honeycomb tarot its oil on canvas.

The Avatar image is a painting by famous artist Raja Ravi Verma he is one of my fav artist.

Wow you have made 4 decks already.....i checked your site. I liked your bio (you are so similar to me) even i find conventional psychology so superficial and unreal.

I liked your decks too. I am creating a deck of my own. The theme is based on Indian Culture, I wanted a deck with Eastern Philosophy especially a touch of Indian glory and beauty.

But the process is slow its a month now i have not done any progress only 3 cards are painted and there is a long way to go. I need to be more sincere and put more effort and energy.

I will surely make one card for this Ark Tarot since i have a small kid here i have to keep monitoring him also and he disturbs when i paint i cant leave the canvas incomplete and paint lying here and there.

Namaste

I like your Emperor for the Honeycomb deck Namasteindia…its wonderful.
I wish you all the best with your own deck, I would appreciate seeing a deck steeped in Indian culture and philosophy (and a LWB to describe all about it)... But yes, I understand how that is when you have a small child who needs constant attention and so not much time for personal projects (and also the need to be careful with all those art supplies lying about). It’s a real challenge to try and juggle it all…but please take your time and enjoy the process of creating your cards. For me that is the best therapy!
Speaking of psychology (since you brought it up), while I did find the study of it mostly fascinating and I enjoyed learning about the different theories (especially Jungian), I did find the actual work to be slow going, frustrating, emotionally draining, not much like the books would lead you to believe. Ha! Most people seem to be very attached to their troubles and just want to talk about them over and over without much moving forward. Art therapy on the other hand seemed to be more meaningful and we could see a glimpse of the light (at the end of the tunnel, metaphorically speaking), and often more healing on a deeper level. But I spent years studying and didn’t spend much time trying to be a therapist. It wasn’t a good fit for me. I learned a lot in the process even if I didn’t feel comfortable going into private practice.
I’m glad you’re going to do an Ark Tarot card! When you get around to it, please share which card you end up doing. Good luck and hope you enjoy the experience. I may do a 3rd, Ark card closer to the end if they are still missing cards…
My best to you and your little one. Namaste to you too! Ciao, Arnell

Arnell wrote: Hi Arnell,Thank you for the appreciation. Yes i will focus hard despite all the hinderances here.Yes i have the same problem. I have learnt tarot. But when i started consulting i felt that people actually do not want to move forward they want to be stuck in the rut. They keeping talking about troubles and if one trouble is over the other one starts. Its emotionally draining to deal with them. I go into depression handling them.People also expect only positive cards to come up and only positive results to any situation. But they do not want to hear about solutions to make things positive. They want spells and tailsman to make things work but will not focus on self belief, meditation, affirmation for positivity. Private practice and consultations do not work for me too. I cannot be manipulative and discard my integrity. Do share your 3rd Ark of Tarot card. I will start with my artwork and upload for you to see.Regards,Namaste

Dear Namasteindia,

Do you plan to make a Major Arcana or a full 78 card deck? I wish you a beautiful experience with the creative process and hope you'll share news of the progress later on...

Yes...I stopped doing Tarot readings about the same time I lost interest in being a therapist. The challenges with both were related for me. Now I enjoy the Tarot mainly by making new cards and supporting and collecting art decks by others.

Will look forward to your Ark Tarot contribution and yes I'll share if I end up doing a 3rd card contribution. Thanks. Namaste. Santo, Arnell

Hello Arnell,

I have not decided whether it would be 22 majors or 78 cards. the 78 cards will take me couple of years to complete.

Since I am handpainting the cards with oil on canvas its time consuming.

But lets see when I am finished with majors I may decide whether to go forward or stop.

I will surely upload the Ark tarot card here and im planning to upload my Tarot deck in AT forum in couple of days will let you know whenever i do that.

Regards,

Namaste

Dear Tarot artists and friends,
Morena, the curator at Museo dei Tarocchi asked me to mention that the deadline for submitting art for the Ark Tarot Open Deck project has been extended to November 30th, 2010. The publication of this deck is still scheduled for May of 2011.

So I've edited my description (posted on page one - Feb 26th) to reflect this updated deadline.
I look forward to learning who else plans to participate in this project. Good luck and have fun!
Warmly,
Arnell

Dear Namesteindia,
Such colorful and vibrant imagery! If I can choose, my favorite card so far is III Empress. She is lovely and the blending of colors and mood is very nice. Also XIV Temperance is wonderful. And XIX Sun very charming and such pretty colors. Many wonderful cards, Namesteindia. I enjoyed reading about the story, folk hero, God(s), etc., represented in the cards too. I hope you will elaborate on these with more details later.

By the way, Namesteindia, I did not get a notification that you had posted this message or I would have responded sooner. If you want to contact me, maybe it’s more reliable to use my e-mail: aando@arnellart.com

I wish you continued inspiration with the creative process of your deck.
Warmly,
Arnell

Mia Caro Mr. La Luna,
'Tis a wonderful 2 of Coins. What a clever concept for this card. I remember that famous photo of those 'Siamese Twins', and that paired with the yin and yang, dragon energy moving about...its a great way of seeing this card. I'd love to hear your own thoughts on it if you get a chance. Thanks so much for sharing your card!
Fondly Xo,
Arnell

Thank you for your sweet words dear Arnell
Well these where my toughs behind it This card has always been seen as representing the effort of making the best of what you have been given to manage all current situations one is living in, sometimes it's easy but often it's a true juggling and equilibrium exercise.
Who better than to represent this difficult situation than Conjoined twins (also known as Siamese twins) what they have on the outside many if not all of us are living on the inside, divided yet one whole being at the same time. Juggling ones own life, possessions and body as well as their other half and building a normal life can be difficult but so much worth the effort.

I love all the cards you've both shared here, thanks! I'm sorry to hear you haven't gotten a confirmation yet from the Museo. I know they've been super busy & traveling a lot since this summer so your e-mail may have gotten lost in the shuffle. Could you maybe try asking them if they received your artwork again but since they're in Spain now maybe wait till Friday or even next week? The deadline for this project had been extended until November 30th a while back. I did hear from Morena that they have not gotten nearly enough contributions so far... Sorry, I've got to run to work, but thanks for writing and sharing your lovely art here.

Warmly, Arnell Ando

Hi everyone,
Hope you are enjoying the holiday season. I've just heard from our friends at the Tarot Museum (who have been traveling a lot over the past few months and are getting ready to leave for Libya next), that the deadline for this project has been extended until October 31st of 2011. So far they did not receive enough cards to make a go of this, but rather than scrap it, (since they love the card contributions they have received and think its a worthwhile project), they want to give artists more time to contribute and get the word out to others that may be interested. So please let your creative Tarot friends know if you think they would enjoy this artistic challenge & opportunity. Details along with an example of a card & text contribution can be found here: http://www.arnellart.com/museodeitarocchi/int-invite.htm
You can also find the project invitation on their website: http://www.museodeitarocchi.net/ Take good care and best wishes,
Arnell

Have you any idea which cards they HAVE - if (big IF !)  I did one I would think it smart NOT to do one that's already done, if there's a shortage.... I know they were fine with loads of the same - but if they have had to extend so far....

Hi Gregory,
I hear ya and wonder the same, but I've asked them that question and apparently its part of the whole 'everyone in the world that wants to, is invited to play and has a chance to be in this deck'…and so they feel that saying which cards are 'taken' would throw off the eventual outcome and possibly the number of participants. So anyone that wants to jump in, have fun with it and see how it all turns out... Its all up for grabs.
Warmly,
Arnell

Mia caro Mr. LaLuna,
Happy moving! Excited to see more pics and hear details of your new place when you're all settled in (just shoot me over an e-mail later on when you have time ok? No hurry. Its the season of good cheer & pure chaos).

Anyway, I did just get this rather cryptic message from Morena before she sets off to Libya (they are leaving on Monday until the 15th of Dec. - I gathered from her note.)
She wrote:

"About Arca project, I think that when I’ll come back I’ll write you the contributes just arrived, so the artists could be read in real time the progress of project."

So that sounds promising doesn't it? An update on the progress of this project thus far, after she gets back and settled. So I guess we should stay tuned and I'll post any new info I happen to receive in the coming weeks. Take good care.
Xo,
Arnell

Mr. La-Luna, your cards are amazing! Is there any hope that we'll see a whole deck made by you? (maybe even 78 cards?) Such a talent makes the tarot world richer.
