Ehhhmmm... ok, I don't really want to heat up the whole 'blue line' or no 'blue line' discussion and all of that.

BUT... I do have a question. What about black&white cards? There were some wonderful black &white cards in the last deck and I am just wondering how we can have some of those again, including a blue line. Thoughts anyone?

(Ok, so I was thinking of a black&white one again.. can't seem to figure out how to get a blue line in there, unless I make the card blue&white of course...:gi)

Title card is the "cover sheet" card, Last year blueToy did the neatest art nuveau thing for us.

Ok, if you want me to pick cards for you, how about the Four of Wands and the Four of Pentacles?  If you don't like those, let me know.

Have you read all the first posts about size, etc?  Including the blue line?

How about I remove the restruictions on the number of cards yoou can have on the 10th?  That gives us another week for new people to join in (:ok), but still leaves time to actually do the card.  I know Ambriel is fighting the bit for more, and I bet there are others.  If you know of anyone who might be interested, ask them if they want to join in.  The more the merrier.

perhaps....a thin, subtle fine blue line strategically placed to draw the eye to a particulary symbol within the card....

I'm in. Just tell me which card(s) I have been assigneds. I'll take any, two cards is fine as well.

If I understood properly the only *conditions* (it's more positive than "restrictions") are related to the size of the delivered maaaasterpiece and the presence of a blue line... right? ;-)

That's going to be fun :-)

That is a good idea. I am not sure if I will go Black&white yet, but that sure is an option. Thanks:bl

I have decided to release the 3 Cups, if anyone wants it, because it just isn't going to work the way I wanted it to, and I know someone can do a much better job than I can mishmashing it.

So we still have 3 cards left.

WE just do what we can. Don't worry about it !

There's a list in the first post of this thread; check that against the few added ones in the last few posts and stake a claim.

Hello, by the way :) We do not use sequinned bags either !

The King of Swords has been passed on to me, I would also like the 7 of Pentacles. (I like that card a lot, and am happy it's available!)

I already have a concept and have started sketching the King of Swords, I promise I can make the end-of-June deadline for both :)

skad, please be specific in your first post as to what you mean by high resolution. How big? How many MB or kb? I am sending all of my final cards in today. I have spent weeks on this project. I am not an artist and this project has taken me a long time to complete.

I will send them to you in jpeg. Hope this is enough. If you need in a bigger format please let me know. There are too many threads on this one deck; perhaps one topic could be pinned with all relevant information, making it easier to find.

I do not think I will be able to afford a copy of this deck. Will not know for awhile but right now it isn't looking good. Also did not see rules for how to win new deck and can't go through all threads hunting it down. Bye for now!

At least 300 dpi; preferably more; AND at least 3 x 4.5 inches.

But bigger works better when they go for print -  but still proportionate like 4.5 x 6.75 which can be reduced to 3 x 4.5.

That's 900 x 1350 pixels....

Mb or Kb has nothing to do with it - that comes from how much is in your image (I think...). One of mine last year was over a Mb; one of the others was 452 Kb....

And jpg is OK.

Last year's deck worked out at $25.....

My images started as paintings but I had to digitally photograph them and make some slight but important alterations. Before I digitally photographed them I first tried scanning, but scanning did not work at all, especially for the Eight of Cups, which it made the center look completely washed out. All that work put into painting and they did not even look like real paintings. The other scans did not work well either. The flowers flattened and did not look real. The Tower's colors were awful. So instead I took my digital camera and photographed them. My digital camera was set to make the files as large as they could be. The JPG files I ended up with are only 72 dpi. There is no option in my photoshop program menu to alter the resolution of the files. The psd (photoshop) files before I converted them to jpg were only 180 dpi. There was no option to make that any more dense. No option for 300 dpi, especially not for the jpg. I will send them as large as I can and I hope that works.

What photoshop do you have ? Image > image size > change it all to the measurements given and 300 dpi gets you there.....

I found a different way to save them and it saved them at 180 dpi instead of 72 dpi. The file sizes at 180 dpi are 1.6 MB, 1.9 MB and 1.4 MB. The images are huge. I hope my email got them through. If skad needs them larger hopefully he can open them in Photoshop and change them to suit the size he needs. As long as he does not change the embedded color profile it should be fine. If the embedded color profile is altered in any way the blues will not look blue and the other colors will be waaayyy off. Or he can ask and I can resend them. I have tried for several days to reach him via telephone but he hasn't responded to email. As stated really I have spent enough time on this project already ...

I am sure that she will respond when she has time.

It would be a shame if you feel it is too difficult or time-consuming to follow through with one last bit of effort to the end of the project, the part that makes your image actually usable.

I am really sorry I was away from a computer for 5 days.  Well, actuall I was close but opening it was more than I wanted to do.  I am trying to catch up on everything.  I probably won't get the list on the front page updated until later today.

ALL CARDS TAKEN.  :ce

Except for the title or front card.  If no one wants to do anything special for it, I just may do something like the Happy Squirrel card from last year, put all our avatars and a title on it.

So many beautiful cards!

I will have mine done on time (7 of Cups; Ace of Swords). I didn't forget and just operate best under pressure - the sign of a true procrastinator.

I have found the bulk of images I am going to use for the collage.

:ok

No, Ly didn't make that mistake this time.  He didn't volunteer to anything that crazy.

Speaking of which, any crazy person want to volunteer?  Otherwise I will do it, and i am NOT the professional Ly is.

So send your high resolution files to me.  (and keep them just in case).

Actually, it's ok. I'm still good at doing the layouts this year. But send everything to Skad first (hee hee) she's very organized about things and I had trouble last year keeping track of what's been emailed to me and not.

Anyway, my... creativity's back again. I've drawn the line art for Death and Four of Cups, will have them scanned this weekend, and maybe submit both by next week. I am especially proud of the death card I made. :D

In connection to this, I'm looking for volunteers for the Queen of Pentacles. :) I have a particular style I want to toy with and I need a picture of someone (preferably female lol) and wearing sunglasses or just clear spectacles even. The pic doesn't have to be a new one nor does it have to be in high-res (the effects I'll be putting in it will change the pic considerably anyway). Just have to show the face mostly, till the chest area. So... any volunteers?

ETA: Can I still toy with new border designs for this year? :)

I'll love to do The Hanged Man, but only if no one minds - I don't want to be greedy...

Having slept on it (and it's only it's 5mins past five here!), I'm having second thoughts about the Hanged Man, mainly because he might prove a more attractive incentive for someone new to join in, and well, I have had more than my fair share already.

So I think I should leave him dangling for a bit and do the Page of Swords if that's OK. Sorry to mess everybody around...:m

Edited to correct typo.

Would you consider this for The Hanged Man?

FYI, I've removed this one to put over on the card postings.  Thanks!

Marcia, I hope you don't mind, but he's too large to see properly, so I've resized your image.

I like him muchly...:ok

Oh, thanks, I was trying to resize him so he would show better too and ran out of time!
