Hi, Gang, I got a quick note from Ly about where he is with the deck that he asked me to pass on to everyone.  I asked if he could possibly give us a status and here's his reply (Thanks, Ly!!):

yes! first off, I'm very sorry for the delay. I've been juggling that and the decks I'm working on. The cards are in the process of being converted to PDF files, which the press needs. They will be ready to be sent to Sherry via e-mail next week (though in increments as the files are huge!). And I think everyone will be satisfied with the results as I've toned down everything since the last samples I showed.

Again sorry for the delay. And, if by any chance people ask you about it, could you pass on the information? I'd really appreciate it. I can't check my internet accounts regularly at the moment.

Thanks so much Marcia! And I hope things are well there.

Regards,
-Ly

Here's a long delayed status.  Sorry I haven't been better at keeping ya'll up to date.

I have gotten all the cards back from Ly, and have loaded them into the file like the printer likes.  I need to add the back card to it yet.

LWB is mostly complete.  I am going to post it here, if anyone wants to look at it an give me any ideas, I'd appreciate it.  More blanks this year where there was no data from the designer.  If anyone want to add or change anything, I can probablyt sneak them in up until this Friday (the 12th).

Consistency, please - either I have a capital g or I don't.:cl I don't mind which ! But I generally use all lower case myself !

5 Swords - please capitalise "Trying."

10 Swords - Please take out "as I said" - it comes from a discussion on the thread and makes no sense in the LWB. It should just start "We..."

Otherwise - ace !

:ce:ce:ce:ce:ce

Printer has been given go ahead to start the printing.

:ce:ce:ce:ce:ce

Boy, you guys better like 'em!  There is surprise or 2 for you this year.  The title card is absolutely wonderful!

:ce:ce:ce:ce:ce

Price went up alittle, but I figured out where I ran short last year!  :zso this year I am including the shipping for Adam's, BlueToy's and Meseus's deck in the total.  Plus shipping has gone up too.

So the total for the deck is 26.20 and shipping is 4.95 for USA and 13.45 for international. (11.45 to Canada).  So total for USA is 31.15, for Canadians, 37.64 , and the rest of the world 39.65.  (US dollars)  My paypal is skad.mail(at)gmail(dot)com.  It will probably be another month before everything is completed, but it's it the home stretch now!

Please, if you are paying with a credit card, could you pay the fees? Select the 'gift' option, then agree to the fees.  I am not making any money on this, and am paying for my own deck, so any fees not paid will have to come out of my pocket.

:ce:ce:ce:ce

I felt SERIOUSLY guilty about last year's holdup being my fault so I wanted to be sure not to be late this year.

Ok, for the final bit, the Winner of the Blue Line Competition for a Free Deck for the Use of a Blue Line!  This was probably the hardest part for me, it was really hard to pick because so many were great.  i did limit the entries to cards that were in by the deadline, but it was still tough.  I finally got it down to 8 cards, then to 3.  Depending on the day of the week, one or the other was my choice.  But I have ran out of time, and the Winner is ...  (ta-da) The Hermit by Sumada.  The close calls were The Fool by goldenweb and the Devil by Marcia959.

So Adam (aka Sumada) I will be buying your deck for you with my heartfelt gratitude for a really wonderful card.

Congrats everyone on another nice deck.

Has anyone taken a head count on who is planning to order a printed copy?
Am I obligated to buy one??? I did not think I was when I signed on.

I'm sorry, but I wasn't planning to buy one this year.
I hope that doesn't upset any plans.

It's so hard to get hold of everyone that I just bypassed that stage, and assumed there would be a few who didn't get a deck.  If there are extra left over we can offer duplicates to participants.  Remember, if you don't get one now, you are totally out of luck in the future.

:z <- Person saying "why, oh WHY, didn't I get a deck when I could?"

But no, you are not obligated to buy one.  We are grateful for your participation, and will enjoy all the cards for along time to come.

Hey WOW! I'm so chuffed   :ce

In the face of so many worthy entries I'm a bit blown away to tell the truth, and I really don't know what to say, (as they say), but thank you, THANK YOU very very much Sherry. It's going to make the anticipation for receiving this deck even more acute than usual.

However, I think we can ALL feel proud of this 3rd TCF deck; it's been a very great pleasure to be part of this real treasure, and I only wish I had been around for the first one too!

Cheers to everyone involved,

adamuS

Congrats Sumada, Goldenweb, and Marcia! It IS a wonderful deck! I have seen the on-screen final version of all the cards (of course!) They are all pretty good. Plus, the wonderful iconic back design is still the pattern (only recoloured) created by OnePotato for the first ever TCF deck. So here's to another great deck by the TCF community! :)

:ok Sumada!  When you first posted your card, I caught my breath at how effective and clever it is--just great.

And Marcia, Goldenweb :ro

(my smilies don't animate--I sure hope these are the happy "thumbs up" ones...)

Bluetoy, Skad, thanks for organizing this.
I'll buy one, but Skad, we're in the midst of moving so our address is changing...if you don't mind I'll wait 'til I'm sure of the new one, maybe three weeks :-)

Paypal fees are an ongoing learning process.....

If you are in the US and paying with a credit card, the fee is $1.20

If you are converting foreign currency, the fee is $1.95 US.
If you are out of the US and paying with a credit card, the fee is ???

More info as I find it out.

Exactly! My screen looks much the same still as last time when we discussed it - no "gift" or "personal payment" option.

All I have is "ebay goods", "goods (other)" and "services". And no indication of the fees, but we managed to figure it out anyway :ro

First shipment went out today.  Unfortunately I ran out of supplies so it was smaller than I planned on.  Basically these were the ones that also got a Tarot Rikit from Ly (aka BlueToy) which I was able combine shipping on.  So I will be shipping again later in the week.

If anyone who is getting this deck and are thinking about getting Ly's Tarot Rikit, I can combine the shipping on them.  Just drop me a PM so I know to ship them together.

Paypal Ly the cost for his deck, and Paypal me the cost of the forum deck and the shipping.

No little yellow button to alert me and no notifications for this thread, so I've missed all the posts since the last one I made - very odd.

So, better late than never Congratulations to Sumada - a well deserved winner! I love both Hermits!

So looking forward to the deck...:D

Congrats to Sumada, Sherry and everyone who participated in the 2010 Deck. I was bumped off the 'watch topic email reminders' so I haven't kept up to date. What a great and wonderful surprise to get back and see the progress....all the creative energy and how it comes together to form one complete and powerful deck.
Joyous Holiday to All!

Just aheads up, get out your sharpies, there are 2 Devils, one will need to be relabeled the Tower, and the second 5 of pentacles will need to be changed to a 6.
:kt
:z:v:z:n

Sorry I didn't catch them. You can use the sharpie to draw nasty notes on my face.  (what no picture of my face?  well, darn...)
