Alessio Piemontese: Les Secrets - Paul Ferguson - 03-14-2024

"Girolamo Ruscelli was a 16th-century Italian writer who published numerous works and a variety of topics including translations of well-known works such as the Decameron and Furious Orlando. However, his most famous, or infamous, work was his book of secrets. This book, ‘De Secreti’ was a book of alchemical recipes that was a wild success; however, because of the nature of the work, Ruscelli did not put his own name on the work, rather he used a pseudonym of Alessio Piemontese to distance himself from the controversial contents."
