Skad1, our esteemed host of the TCF 2009 Tarot deck asked me to send an e-mail to the wonderful folks at Museo dei Tarocchi, letting them know our deck would be soon on the way while also wondering if it could be photographed if they decide to put it on display. This morning I received a lovely response from Morena, the curator of the Tarot Museum. Skad1 suggested I share this response with you all in this new thread. It is posted below.
(Please be patient as it seems to take a long time (up to 6 weeks) for even Air Mail to reach the Museo in that tiny town of Riolo. And it may take an additional bit of time for them to get to the point where they are sending any photos, especially if they are organizing a special event that will showcase our coveted deck. But I was cheered to get this enthusiastic response from Morena at the Museo this morning and excited to share it with all you talented artists). Thanks for making this possible Gregory!!
Warmly, Arnell

Morena writes:

My heart is celebrating the good news about (this) celebrative deck. I’m happy and honored… too much happy! Of course I’ll write you or Sherry. With great happy (happiness) we’ll enclose the deck on the web site and we’ll organize an exhibit. I’ll write you the date. After this the deck will be stably in the Museum so all people could see it.

Thank you very much for this collaboration and for this special donation which we will give a prominent place.

Tanti… tanti… ma ancora tanti baci di cuore!
Con amore
Morena

**********************************************************************
My letter to Museo dei Tarocchi last evening is included in part below for your reference.

My dear Morena and Ernesto,
I trust this finds you in good spirits. I am writing on behalf of the Tarot Collector's Forum (TCF). As I may have mentioned, this online group created a very special collaborative Tarot deck last year, which I was honored to be a part of too. This TCF deck is a very limited edition. It was printed with only enough copies for each participant to receive one, with only one extra copy printed, which we decided (by vote) to donate to Museo dei Tarocchi, with our warmest regards. Many of the participants are customers of Hermatena publications. Sherry (who you know as a collector and customer) was the wonderful Host of this deck and she will be mailing the deck to you soon.

If possible, please let Sherry or me know when the deck arrives, but more importantly, if you decide to put the deck on display in the Museo, the group would very much appreciate a photograph of this. Could you please e-mail a photo to Sherry (or to me), if its not too much trouble? Some of us plan to visit the Museo someday, while others can only dream of this, so a photograph of our collaborative deck in your fabulous Tarot Museum would be very special and would be posted on the Tarot Collector's Forum. Thank you for all you do for the Tarot community and we hope you enjoy our deck!! I'll be in touch soon, please take good care Ernesto and Morena.

Un grandissimo bacio con tutto il nostro affetto xo,
Arnell

If you could ask her to copy gregory it'd be nice.  Especially since it was the deck she had the option on that is going there.

Hi Skad1
Yes...I thought about mentioning that bit too when writing to them, but then I figured it would get too complicated to explain such details in English...but if I get the response (eventually) from the the Museo I will be sure to forward it on to you and our dear Gregory too, who so generously gave up her deck, and I trust that you will do likewise if they end up writing to you instead, Skad1. Thanks again.
Warmly,
Arnell

Good News! I just heard from Morena at the Tarot Museum...
The Ministry of culture & art of Rome organizes some special events each year and has invited the Museo dei Tarocchi to do a special event (the Ministry will promote the event so that should attract much attention and exposure).  So the Museo is planning to exhibit (in their Tarot Museum) our Tarot Collectors Forum 2009 deck! The dates for this special event which will showcase our deck: April 16 ~ 26th 2010. I don't know if any of you are by chance living near Northern Italy and might consider possibly poping over to Riola (in Bologna county) during this time in April but I bet it would be a nice time to visit our enchanted Tarot Museum. If you plan to attend, please let the curators Morena or Ernesto know when. You can e-mail them here hermatena@libero.it  I trust they will take photos of the exhibit for us, but if any of you are able to attend the event, pretty please take a few snapshots for all of us to see here, ok?
Oh and if you can go to the exhibit please share the news on this thread. Thanks.
Warmly,
Arnell

Me too Ambriel! I feel the same way...

Hi Everyone,
I just heard from Morena at the Museo that they received the TCF 2009 deck in the mail this morning. (Which was a relief as I was beginning to wonder if it was going to miss the debut at its own Special Exhibit). She said she is very happy with our deck, liking it very much. And that Ernesto will update their website with our deck as soon as he can. He is out of town on business. So that's all great news that I wanted to share. More to come when our deck goes on Exhibit April 16th~26th...

PS: I won't have much (if any) internet access over the next 10 days or so, in case anyone writes me and wonders why I'm taking forever to respond.
Warmest wishes,
Arnell

This is so cool.  I'm glad they finally got the deck, I was really worried.  But i'm glad she let you know.

Now I just can't wait to see the web and exhibit photos.

:ok

Oh, that is fantastic news indeed. We are thinking of a short trip around Northern Italy, but it will be some months before it can happen, because the Readers Studio in NYC comes first...

:roOh that would be wonderful Morwenna, if you could visit our deck and all the other wonderful Tarot art and meet the fine folks of the Museo. In case you go, 'would love it if you could share about your experience in this thread.

And if you're going that far, why not also visit Osvaldo Menegazzi's wonderful Tarot shop ‘Il Meneghello’ in Milan (only 2 hours away from the Museo by train). Here you can see some of his publications and artworks: http://www.arnellart.com/osvaldo I especially like his Tarot shadowboxes and handmade deck sets.

Really hope you can make the trip to Northern Italy someday soon, Morwenna. I think its well worth the journey. Please keep us posted...
Warmly,
Arnell

Great news everyone! The Museo has posted our TCF 2009 deck on their site. You can find the link on their front page or here: http://www.museodeitarocchi.net/tcf.htm
promoting the special event April 16th-26th.

You'll see all 30 participants listed (TCF nicknames are used and real names are included only if they were mentioned in the LWB) and in case you have a Tarot website it is also probably included. At the bottom of that list where it says 'Deck', if you click, you will see one card by each of us scroll by with the title and a little bit of info gathered from the LWB and again if you have a website it is shown (usually underneath) your card scrolling by. Very cool!  I checked and yes all 30 artists have a card present and accounted for and it looks wonderful! I’m impressed the Museo folks, Ernesto and Morena got that up and running so fast! And the special event for our deck is just around the corner too...so hope to see photos of that!

Also at present the Ministero dei Beni Culturali in Rome (Ministry of art and culture) has the TCF deck Special event posted on their own website which you can see here (in Italian but easy enough to make out)…well, at least until they post something else:

http://www.beniculturali.it/mibac/export/MiBAC/sito-MiBAC/Contenuti/MibacUnif/Eventi/visualizza_asset.html_235430360.html

I was very excited to share this with you all.
Warmly,
Arnell

Yeah, I am so jazzed. I feel the Museo folks really enjoy, appreciate and value Tarot art and the people who create it and the many perspectives and cultural influences. They are running a business too of course but their hearts are in the right place and they seem mainly driven by a passion for this living art form, ya know? Pretty dang cool. I wish I could go to our deck's Special Event but I guess no one in our group is able to attend, huh?... Well, but still, we're representin’ on the Tarot museum website :)

Warmly,
Arnell

Hello TCF buds,

Morena from Museo dei Tarocchi just sent a couple photos of our TCF 2009 deck on exhibit! She apologized for the low quality of the photos, but in one of them you can see Morena and the other image has Ernesto standing with our deck in its swanky frame. The 3rd image is a wide shot of the main room while the exhibit is taking place. Pretty cool huh? I sure wish I could have been there… Morena mentioned that the exhibit was held during the time when the volcano in Iceland affected flights in Europe, and so many visitors who planned to attend the event, (such as Kim Arnold; founder of the UK Tarot Conference) were unfortunately unable to make this special event, alas. But looks like quite a few people still attended. Yay!

(I think I need to post these photos in separate posts so here is the one with Morena.)

Warmest wishes,

Arnell

Hi Nicole,
It is my great pleasure to pass along these shots from the Museo event. Morena was feeling badly that the photographer didn't get clearer images of our cards on display but I can plainly see, for example your wonderful Sun card brightening up the scene :)
Thanks for posting, take care! Warmly, Arnell

Thank you Mr. La Luna,

It is my great pleasure to forward these photos on to you all with the warmest regards from our friends at the Tarot Museum. And yes I quite agree, we're all wonderful :) It was a great experience to be a part of this deck with everyone and then to see it embraced so passionately by the Museo folks, featuring it on their website and then hosting a special event for it.
And I hope to finally meet you in person, September 2011, Mr. La Luna, and visit together this fabulous Tarot museum!

Fondly yours xo, Arnell

Thanks Arnell, for posting the pictures! And wow, those cards do look good in the frames. And on the website. I almost get the feeling I am a real artist :gi.

Anyway, it is really cool what the people from Museo have done with the deck and sharing it with the world like this. :ro

Truelighth dear,
You are a beautiful artist! And yes I agree with all you said...I love the experience of this ever expanding, creative Tarot community and how much it continues to support and embrace cross cultural thoughts and artistic contributions. The Tarot Museum attempts to capture and shine a light on as much of our Tarot culture as possible. Things like that and also this wonderful forum that Adam has given to us as a venue just inspire the heck out of me and keep me going, ya know what I mean? Its all good...
Warmly,
Arnell

Thanks so much for asking...I really wish I could, it was very fun last time, but I'm so swamped with commitments I can't keep up. But I'll be looking longingly at the ongoing deck as it evolves and cheering you all on!
Fondly,
