Here's a bit of fun...
I recently aquired a very nice 1966 limited edition copy of Wirth's 'Le Tarot des Imagiers du Moyen Age', complete with cards, and published by Tchou. Lovely binding, with soft peach/ginger shot-silk covered boards and embossed gilt lettering, and deep rich colouring given to Michel Simeon's re-rendering of the cards.
But imagine my suprise when I discoverd that two of the cards were mis-numbered! La Force is 9 and l'Ermite is 11. Wow...
...so The 2010 TCF Tarot of the Blue Line is not the only deck to have had this wee glitch eh!
Even the b&w illustrations in the book have the numbers transposed as well. This copy is stamped 174 of 500, and I think one can rightly assume that the entire edition would have been this way, and presumably the whole run of cards as well. I wonder when they noticed it?
Any one here got a mis-numbered Wirth deck from Tchou? Anybody know the history of their different publications of this book? I know there was a 1975 edition with a white cover, and I've also seen a black covered one.
The attached pics show Tchou on the left, and USGames on the right. Scanning never captures the glint off the gold backgrounds, but you can see how the hue of the gold differs. I find Tchou's darker colouring way more subtle and although you can actually see more detail in the brighter, primary coloured USGames cards, I now much prefer the Tchou; what ever the numbers are...Attached Image (viewed 71 times):

I've got a black covered copy. It's cheaply bound and printed and barely qualifies as a hardback.
Title page front: Oswald Wirth, le tarot des imagiers du moyen age, préface de Roger Caillois. France Loisirs, 123, boulevard de Grenelle -- Paris.
Title page back: Edition du Club France Loisirs, Paris, avec l'autorisation des Editions SE Tchou. (c) SE Tchou, éditeur, 1982. ISBN: 2-7242-2469-8.
Back pages: "Achevé d'imprimer en août 1985"
374 p. + attached fold out table + 22 cards in back pocket.
Until now, I had assumed it was identical in layout and text to the 1966 edition.
VIIII l'Ermite and XI la Force are correctly titled on both the cards and book illustrations.
The cards share the same reddish brown-gold background as Sumada's Tchou, but the images are closer in hue and saturation to Sumada's USG edition. My USG edition is just a bit darker than Sumada's.
