Several people have suggested a thread for identifying members' avatars. Well, what the heck. Here's a thread. I hope this is the right place for it.
I think "guessing" is in order, however.

And yes, my avatar is from Fortuna's Wheel. This is a lovely 22-card deck. The colors are quite beautifully shaded, the renderings are amusing, the composition is pleasing, and the production values are terrific. Yay.
Also, I look exactly like this in real life.

Almost was used for a king of coins, for a current collaborative that seems sort of nearly forgotten these days.
But that's weather in his hand, not a coin.
It's not from a deck.
And yes, Bill cut the woodblock, half a lifetime ago.
So, you're pretty close to winning.
If you stop now, you get the basic prize.
If you can identify it better, you get the sweet version...
So...?

The source of my current avatar....
As I said, this was done for an Offset Lithography class at Cooper Union, circa 1983.
I cut & printed the woodblock, then it was shot as a halftone & offset printed as part of a book cover design.

I like everything about it....the gentle way he handles the storm, the black/white balance, the tension between movement and stillness, and the sweet stoutness of the magician himself, with his under-eye circles and his little ankle bones!

i must say that i agree, the avatars are collectively very lovely. since taking quesses as to their orgins went by the wayside... several members have shared their avatar info with us, i will tell you all about mine...it is a collage/painting that i created specifically as an avatar for this site...it was inspired by all the others...thank you all!

Wow, isn't that great??!! I also have her Contemplation Cards which is another 54-card deck, created a bit earlier than the Relationship Cards.
I found her artwork very fresh and lively. I bought the decks, and have been using them for 6 weeks or so to draw a daily card by the computer. I find that pulling a single card like that is a good way to connect to a new deck.

You are correct, that is from the Hermit card on the Rocambole Tarot, or what some have referred to as the Mayan Lego Tarot. I really like the geometric tribal energies in this deck.

Lovely Queen of Cups from the Victorian Romantic!
I am currently working on the court cards for that in my visual journal.
The Queen of Wands insisted on the purple paper to go with her dress. And then ALL the Swords said they'd look well with red. As you can see, the Queen of Cups is gazing at the green paper and thinking how WELL she and her companions would look with green--always thinking about others and their emotional well-being.
The Pentacles are Burgundy, they like red earth and lots of wine. I personally feel the Page looks a bit soused, but young men do like to carouse.

The Victorian Romantic is definitely in the top 15 for decks I like. I have so enjoyed working with it.
The colours always seemed nice to me. But more importantly, it brings out memories of my own life. Words, images, it's a nice deck for reconnecting via art and experience in the journals I made for it. I have the plain deck so I made my own journals.
I don't think I've ever done a reading with it--I'm sure you are scandalized, but I bought it for the art connection and the opportunity to do a visual journal with one deck, so that's the way it works well for me.

:P Just kidding...I do enough reading with it to make up for anyone elses lost time anyway.
But you are right, it a visually stimulating deck....aesthetically pleasing to the eye and just plain beautiful. ....Don't tell, but I print the cards on plain paper sometimes and color them myself with color pencil....I'm a VR lover, like no other.
