Yet another one-of-a-kind deck that I got from Beth. So again, I am sharing some images. I fell in love with the Fool myself, that is why I had to buy it :gi:

Does that REMIND you of anything, TL ?????
Indeed, is that where our Wheel of Cheese came from ?

Hi, truelighth!

Mama Mouse here.

Who's Beth?

Is this a drawn-on-the-card deck or a small print run?

Yes, it most definately reminded me of the Nonny Mouse deck. I already thought, what a coincidence that Beth happened to make a Mouse deck when we are all working on a Mouse deck.

Hmm.. the Wheel of Cheese.. wait, I hadn't checked on that or seem the similarity. I gotta check that out!

Edited to say: ok, the Wheel of Cheese from Nonny is different. But it is the name. Maybe it is somehow very obvious with mouse tarots???

Hi Mama Mouse,

Beth Seilonen is a artist who has made a lot of major arcana decks in 2008 and 2009. You can check her website here:

http://catseyeart.com/

And this is a one copy only, so drawn-on-the-card deck indeed.

Oh, that reminds me, I got another Mouse Tarot by Michael Kutzer. I gotta dig that one out too.

Beth Seilonen. Google her. She has done loads of decks. All limited and pricey :sd. I did think her mousifying was a remarkable coincidence..... TL - do you now know her well enough to ask ? Maybe she is right in there doing a card !!!

I could ask her. Although I don't think she is a tarot person herself or that she frequents AT. I haven't really gotten that idea from her. But I'll ask all the same.

And how funny you calling me TL. I haven't heared that for ages! I used to be called TL on online chatting all the time, but that is about 6 or 7 years ago now. Brings back memories.

Oh dear.

I really like the Maple Tarot.

Lukewarm on the others, thank goodness.

A mouse theme would necessarily bring to mind certain visions and expressions in any culture. The tough part would be rendering them in an unexpected manner. Beth's Tower is an example...mice+cheese=ho hum, but shoot bits of cheese at the mouse in illustrative devastation and the image is no longer so cosy. Imagine a mouse deck done in a surreal style..creeeepy.

Yeah, that is a good thing. I got almost all her decks and my gosh, there are so many!!!

The Maple Tarot, I had to have that one after seeing the Strength card with that Squirrel on it. Ok, so I am a sucker for rodents :hp.

Yup, I got that one too. It is indeed adorable.

Anyone who is interested, check out the Arcana of the Tree Goddess thread.. that is also a one-of-a-kind drawn-on-the-card tarot.

My records show she's up to 38 decks already, and shows no sign of slowing down.  I didn't win 7 of her original artworks, but then ended up getting one of them from tantricknite when he sold his collection.  The first deck was done on September of 2007.  I think her artwork is really improving, she is definitely more comfortable with the tarot structure and fitting images into it.  I really didn't see Evergreen trees as fitting into the tarot, but she pulled it off!

So...who is doing a mouse deck?

A group of us on AT, to raise money - don't get excited; there will only EVER be two, one to be auctioned and one - I forget what happens to that.... - though we might sell scans....

It is NOT an art deck. Trust me; I know this..... We actually have to hand draw our cards on blanks; NOT my forte....

I don't read with majors only, so when I won her deck I asked that she leave them as uncut and they are now framed on my wall.

Most decks are already cut by the time I get hold of them... this was a nice option.
