Last week I discovered a tarot that was produced in 2010 in the UK as a project towards a BA (Hons) Fashion Illustration at the London College of Fashion. The artist is Yeo Park and the designs are in pen and brushed ink and reflect the style of fashion illustrations. The artist produced a small batch, beautifully presented in a lidded box, and happily for collectors still has a small number of these left for sale. You can buy these direct from the artist at ParkYeo-Jung ylangylang47@hotmail.com

As far as I understand the artist wants to charge around about 50 UK Pounds.

Adam,

I've now have received a reply. I'm a sucker for fine art so I bought a set. I like to support young/new tarot artists as I think you know.

This is probably the last I can afford until I get my wants list sorted out but I couldn't resist it.

Cheers!

It arrived and is rather beautiful - so is the box. Altogether a very nice piece of work. The pictures are definitely tarot, sometimes in subtle ways, sometimes obvious.

I wish her well in her career.

It's a nice look, but the more I look at the images, the less it feels like deco... it feels like a bunch of deco shading/texturing techniques, applied to forms that aren't deco at all.

Just like some people have trouble with wrong tarot details, I feel like the cards are so close to the right look, but that just makes the parts that are wrong look that much more wrong...

In fact the more I look at them the more they do radiate Deco for me.

Although Ms Park has considerably moved on from the "traditions" of Deco, I get a distinct extension from artists like de Lempicka, Gluck, etc. superbly updated with the current fashion in line drawing.

She does come up with a new slant on the Majors, sometimes in very subtle ways.

Sadly I have not had a response to my email... maybe they are all gone.

Only a thought - as it would seem she graduated with her BA she may be on a prolonged holiday. I've been in contact a couple of times, my last note wouldn't have prompted a reply but she hinted that she'll be doing more card designs for her MA next year.

Should I hear from her (i.e. she's back on the scene) I'll mention it.
