Thank you Adam for welcoming me to Tarot Collectors Forum & a thank you to Paul Nagy for encouraging me to join.
I'm a collector of tarots along w/my husband. I do read but enjoy using tarot for creative purposes ... poetry for the most part & am currenty immersed in Enrique Enriquez''Tarology' as well as studying the Camoin Tarot with Paul Nagy's Teleconference on Tuesday evenings. I encourage everyone to check out Paul's site...
Today my Jean Dodal Tarot came from France... I understand quite a bit more of Enrique's book thanks to actually SEEING this tarot... more so for me than any other TdM I could possibly use to illustrate Enrique's concepts. I told Adam that The Camoin was my favorite tarot ( as well as Carol Herzer's Illuminated RWS Tarot) but after viewing the amazing Flornoy's Jean Dodal today... well - I'm re-evaluating my preferences.
In college I read all the time for my dorm-mates... then with career & family I stopped for years to return when 'Meditations On The Tarot' first came out in English.
My mom originally taught my sister & I to read but we really didn't 'get into it' at all as youngsters. She was born in Bologna & tarot wasn't 'a big deal' to her as it is so pervasive ( in other ways ) in the art & architecture surrounding Europeans. I owe a great deal to Valentine Tomberg... our Anon Author for bringing tarot back into my life after my foray as 'the dorm witch' so many years ago.
The beauty of tarots started my husband & I to collect. We have a collection of about 200 tarots w/some in duplicates. Years ago we were at The Pierpont Museum & I purchased several early style tarots & that was the beginning of our love affair with collecting tarots.
I look forward to reading & seeing 'all things tarot' on this forum... Frankly, I just figured out how to scan images! Be patient & I will share some of the tarots the forum may be interested in seeing.
Once again ~ thank you Adam for making the forum available to me & to Paul Nagy for telling me how wonderful the forum is!
