Not on FB but as Skad has put in the tiny print, I will do strength unless someone else REALLY wants it, in which case I will take another. But anything aimed at ME needs to be posted HERE or I won't see it !

I am actually rather sorry to see a forum project dealt with off-site - not just an FB thing, but a THING in general. IT feels to me as though it may well miss people as a result. But much Kudos to skad for taking this on yet again.

I am still checking in here, just not as often. I was hoping there would be more interest if we went to Facebook, but there haven't been any new cards since the first day. I think we need more than 10 people to do a deck, even a majors only one. Get the word out.

We need more people is this is going to happen. It would be a shame to break a streak since 2007!

Sorry, since 2008!!!

We need 11 more people willing to design a card. Let me know if you are interested.

Well, I guess I can manage to come up with something until december. Can I have the chariot then?

I also have a very simple idea for the world. If we come to a point where more than one card needs to be taken by some people then I could always to that too.

(I am not on facebook either, so I will only get information being posted here.)

I think we should keep both updated. I got the e-mail first, then I saw the fb group and I knew this topic was also on here.

But it is a good point of Gregory that we do need to keep it on the group here too, since otherwise some people wont't see it and miss it. Perhaps we can also open a topic here for the cards?

When it comes down to the cards, I would also be willing to do a second, if it comes to that. But lets first see if more people will take a card.

So people, join.. don't be shy! :hp

I think I have been keeping both updated, with at least a note on which cards have been taken. I get notices for both places, as long as that happens we should be ok. Hopefully, if I let something slide, someone will let me know. There are still 10 cards available, so if you notice someone missing, let them know.

This is the copy I had of the strength. Problem is that it's a very low resolution. Is this the one you were talking about?

Trzes, sorry, cards aren't marked as finished until the high resolution copy is emailed to me. We had some problems with that in the past, wher ethe cards seemed to get lost after they posted on the forum, but not sent to me.
:n:n

Yes that's it. I THOUGHT I sent you the hi-res one at the same time.... I'll have to look at the end of October when I get back to the UK....

ETA Actually I should be able to reproduce it here if I have to.

Not me this time. I was sufficiently incensed at the ridiculous bio I had assigned after bothering to write two (identical) that I sent with the card designs that I binned the last lot.

Never mind.

Bests with it, all. :)

And Ambers' The Sun comes in second!!!! (no, I'm not going to always do this.) Remember the card is only complete when I get the high resolution version.

When you are doing your high resolution version of your card, the only size requirement is what your email will send, and so far I haven't had anyone mention they had trouble. Last year the larges was over 4500KB ! Of course, it doesn't have to be large to be good. People who work with this all the time seem to know how to manipulate their scanner setting to get what they want. I haven't figured that out yet.

Remember the info for the LWB.

I finished my Empress:

This Empress was inspired by the many statues and ancient depictions of the Earth Mother. The spirals point to these ancient cultures and religions. For me the Empress stands for the Earth mother, fertility, nurturing. The gold spiral in the middle of the Empress signifies how we can connect to the Earth mother/energy ourself. Made with pastel.

I have a wonderful Hanged Man, but I made that one for the Aeclectic Forum collaborative deck. Even though that will never see print and I would love to see it in print. I am tempted to also use it for this deck.

But if anyone else has a Hanged Man, that will be fine too. I am not sure if I will have the time to make another card.

Here's my card. It depicts a Filipino folk dance, called Pandanggo sa Ilaw (literally: Light Fandango). The dancers hold glasses with lit candles while they dance. (here is how it's danced: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y_G-aHAxXds )
It was a good and fun exercise to... exorcize an artist's block. :D

I asked Sherry if I could be given a go at making the title card. Did something over the weekend, showed it to Sherry and she said it would be great as a Star card. So we'll be doing a switch - my original Star card will now be the title card. Here's the new Star card. (sorry for the confusion!)

THE LOVERS
The pictures for the collage are borrowed from Escher’s Bond of Union and the Aurem Vellus. The picture from the Aurem Vellus pictures the body being dissolved by the spirit, which is then removed from the body, and afterwards finally descends into a newly spiritual body as an allegory for sublimation and distillation. In the upper left corner I included the Gemini constellation, which is generally associated with the Lovers card and here represents the duality of body and spirit. In the lower right corner is the sixth Hebrew letter Vav (“nail”), which here represents “union”. My Lovers card is about the process of overcoming the duality of body and spirit.

JUDGEMENT
Like in the Thot Tarot my Judgement is not about the end of the world, but about the end of the spiritual age of Osiris and therefore shows the Aeon of Horus (pictured as “The Eye of Horus”-symbol ) born out of the fire of a red giant. Usually there is the angel Israfel blowing his trumpet to arise the dead from their graves pictured on the Judgement card. I have a shofar instead calling for remembering the dead, which are represented by the silhouette of Auschwitz. In the lower right corner is the 20th Hebrew letter Resch (“head”) meaning “the beginning”, the letter also corresponds to the planet Saturn and the duality of war and peace.

Ambriel, Morwenna, Papoon, Sumada, trzes, wvzookeeper
You know who you are!

Beth, Quarkling, Rebecca Lyn have been in contact, so I know a card is coming.

Ambriel, you're on the list because I don't have the high res of the Wheel of Fortune.

Emperor, final, I think. Special thanks to Marcia for her help.
I chose my Dad for the Emperor because he is who I think of when I think of an Authority Figure. This picture is from 1945 when he came home from WWII. He served in Europe and Africa, during which he received two Silver Stars and a Bronze Star along with three Purple Hearts.
I had used my Mother for a card in another group, so I thought it was Dad's turn!

Here's the totals for the 2015 deck. We had one less card this year (no Happy Squirrel), so the deck cost was alittle less. That was more than offset by the the shipping being quite a bit more expensive.

I have more of the Tyvek shipping envelopes that we used last year. But last year was the first time I have ever had packages go missing, so I don't recommend them, especially for international. Unfortunatly, that is where they make the biggest difference. It's up to you, depending on how many people get an extra deck, there may be no extra to send if your envelope goes missing. The ones that went missing were 2 decks in the envelope, none of the single deck in an envelope went missing. If you want 2 decks it would be alot cheaper and probable safer to ship in separate envelopes.

I have added in the shipping to send a deck to Adam and the Meseu in Italy. (in an envelope)

1 deck to the USA in a box = 22.80
2 decks to the USA in a box = 38.80
1 deck to the USA in an envelope = 19.02
2 decks to the USA in an envelope = 35.40

1 deck to Europe in a box = 49.95
2 decks to Europe in a box = 65.95
1 deck to Europe in an envelope = 25.20
2 decks to Europe in an envelope = 45.10
2 decks to Europe in two envelopes = 50.40

Remember, pay all Paypal fees. Fees are generated if there is a currency conversion or if you are paying with a credit card. I am not making any profit on this deck, so please don't make me pay your fees. If the fees add up to quite a bit, I will refuse the payment, and have you send again. All my estimates are in US Dollars.

OK done. It would be useful if you could tell us what the fees ARE - I have gone VERY much off "send money"; it gives no protection for anything lost in the mail ! I guessed. I will send more if it doesn't cover it !

Unfortunately I cannot see your PayPal to tell you what it is charging you. Every country is different and it is up to you to research it and find out. The information is there, somewhere. If you can't find it, either ask someone, or ask PayPal. I tried helping people in the beginning and it bit me, so I learned the hard way to make everyone learn their countries procedures. All I can tell you, when I pay from the States to anywhere else, there are currency conversion fees, a fee is I use a credit card rather than cash balance, and a fee if they're hungover today. So stay sober and search, search, search. (I said the info was there, I didn't say it would be easy to find.)

BTW, I did get your payment and it was forty cents extra.

So stay sober and search, search, search. (I said the info was there, I didn't say it would be easy to find.)

BTW, I did get your payment and it was forty cents extra.

You mean - it was 40 cents more than you require - so you are OK ? - great. When BUYING, one is told that the seller pays fees, so I can't find out what it will charge YOU for receiving my money - it will only tell me if I am sending money - and as far as I know, the fees for that aren't the same as the fees you'd pay if I were buying (I seem to recall this from the last time I was ebaying !) Anyway - as long as you got more, that's great.

SO - anyone from the UK whose paypal is credit card linked - I can tell you how much to send if you want one deck in an envelope and go for "pay for goods" !

I'm good.

It seems like it was one of the European card shops that I had to figure it out for. I thought about just coming up with what seemed like a good number and just adding to the cost, but I thought that wouldn't be fair to the majority that pay from their account. All the fees are so varied.

Just a note, if you are interested in, and don't have BlueToy' s Tarot Rikit, now would be a good time to get it and add it to your box and save the shipping. Check the tarot for sale part of the forum for pix and his contact info. I'm shipping department only.

lookie, lookie...Proofs!!! The finals won't be done until end of next week, but it really is happening.
I haven't heard from 6 people. If you are not interested in getting a deck, let me know so I can offer it someone else. As of now, we have extras available if anyone wants.
:ok

:D

And Sherry, where would we be without you? Thank you especially for your brilliant project management, from computer skills to postage drudge!
Marvelous! Three cheers for Sherry

I think the card stock is even better this year too. Just a bit heavier, with a pleasing flex and snap to it. Yay team!!!
