New status is sorted by designer. See Status list for rest of designers
How do you upload 2 files to one panel???
New version of the cards list has all the pertinent info, and who has done what, and what's left to do.
cards due July 15
MAJORS GONE.
0 Minor Arcana left,
A decision has been made. Final card size will be 3 x 4.5. You can make them any size you want as long as they shrink to that size, so the design ratio is 1:1.5, for every inch in the horizontal, go vertical 1.5. We will worry about printing when designs are closer to completion.
Voting officially over, 78 card deck with no theme.

Do we draw lots? Or stage a tap dancing competition and whoever wins gets to pick first.

If we are calling dibs on cards now, then I have my preferences too ... any or all of:
Tower
King of Wands
Five of Cups
Ace of Swords
Two of Pentacles
But if anyone else has a firm preference for any of these I'll happily step aside.

I'd like to do the star. I have something in mind already, actually. And, if we're gonna push through with the 78, and you're ok with my "donation" suggestions (for some of the minors)...

I'd like to do the Devil or Hermit, and the six of Pentacles, or any others needed.

Justice and Hanged Man for now, if available, please (is it OK to run with 2 majors ?) - and PLEASE tell me there is no theme, as I already have a spare Justice I can offer up. I will look at minors later.

Judgement and the 9 of Swords, please!
Are we using traditional titles?
Is there a collaborative them for the deck (for instance, we did a "Carnivale Mystere" themed deck, which came out really well, on another forum.)

If Kings are your first choice, I'll give up the King of Wands, Stefan :)

For the 22- card deck....5 cards to be done by just two people (one doing 3; another doing 2)?
Hm.

For the minors, I'd like to do 6 of cups too, and Queen of Swords, if no one has already picked them.
So wait, does this mean it's gonna be a full-deck now? (How about for the third deck, to make it really unique, we do minchiate majors? *dodges rotten tomatoes*)

If existing artwork is allowed, I have a Magician without a home to go to. (And if they weren't already taken, a spare Chariot from the Pen Tarot and a Devil.)

I'm watching.
How I see it: collaboration is working together.
I like to work on projects where I feel some sense of overall coherence.
For example, if people have more than one card, there's some rhyme and reason to it, and the majors are each by a different person.
For a collaborative deck elsewhere, we got 22 people to volunteer, and the organizer chose the cards at random for each as they signed up. I like this idea because using tarot is "choosing a card" but not specifying in advance which one you will get!
I don't understand using already-completed art work. Part of the fun is showing what we're doing, trying to make a deck with some overarching sense of "oneness"--even if what holds it together is "it's totally diverse!"
This project seems to have a different spirit.
So I'm watching.

I realised the other day that I have done 4 deaths for collaboratives, so I thought perhaps it was time to branch out !!!!.....
I take Debra's point - and someone else's in another thread about 22 majors by different people. I do HAVE a spare Justice which remains available, but will run with only Hanged Man from the majors if that helps her to join in ??? And I will happily take the odd minor later.....
Please no theme......

Well i'd prefere the 22 majors done by 22artists to and my cards i indicated were merely the one's i feel most conection with for the moment...
and this hierachly from those i mostly feel drawn to to lesser
so if any one wants to change for the High Priestess, Chariot or 2, 7 or 10 of Cups I'm willing

Morwenna dear,
Not to make things too complicated here but I see you had wanted to do the Queen of Wands...I will happily give that card up to you as I really wanted to do the Fool and looks like I got that one, and I had only planned to do one card anyway so... (I can always give one of the Minors a shot later on if there is a need for someone to jump in). Thanks.
Warmly, arnell

Hmm. I can see the tide turning to 22 cards by 22 artists. *shrug* So be it. I'll happily limit my offerings to the Tower (or any major, if random selection is what people prefer), and minor(s) later if asked for.

WOT SIZE ? How printing ? I am betting Spud won't want to repeat the experience this time ?

I also think that it is best to have the 22 majors done by 22 different people. And to use the minors for double cards. Anyway, just my 2 cents!

No, don't feel bad. I think it is good that you spoke up. It got the discussion going and at least nobody will be grumbling later on this way.
I myself feel a bit torn now, since Gregory gave up Justice. I dunno if I want the Empress or Justice... aarrgghhh.
Maybe it is an idea to get an inventory on how many people are willing to do one or several minors. That way we can find out if we will do a full 78 card deck.

OK - I will take Ace Pents and all the threes, if that helps anyone - as long as I do NOT have to print my cards.
I will happily pay for printing.... and I think we should do so if we can...... Tough call, though. I'd feel guilty not doing so again....

Guilt?
Not everyone has money. Both here and at AT, the cost of printing or buying cards poses a problem for some folks. The collective "cost" of allowing OnePotato to do it for free, thus making it possible for anyone to participate, is waiting until he had the equipment and time to do it. The collective benefit is that he is a professional graphic artist and a perfectionist so everyone's contribution will look as good as it possibly can.

Oh I know - and OnePotato was wonderful to do it. I am looking forward to mine no end
But 78 cards - it is too much to expect of anyone, IMHO - no of cards and no of copies required. And he had no printer even for his own work for a while.
I know what you mean about some people not taking part on cost grounds though. It's a tough call. I do have a thought, but it may not..... we could put ONE COPY up on ebay or somewhere and use the proceeds to pay - at least in part - for printing the rest ? (an idea spawned by the Mouse deck !!)

Maybe someone who knows how to get decent results from printers could get a bearable price ? If you see what I mean. I dunno - it just looks like such a lot to ask of anyone..... Especially if it were for free again.
OnePotato was wonderful to offer to do the first one - and it is hardly over and here we are looking at another (I kind of feel it's too soon, but then again if it takes as long as the last.....)
One thing we did for one on AT recently was each print all the necessary copies of our own cards - but the quality was what can politely be called highly variable.... MINE were among the better ones, which tells you all you need to know about that.....

If it's 78 cards, maybe each of us can just have good digital copies, so that we leave the printing to ourselves, since it might prove to be a big undertaking for printing as a group (that also means no shipping, etc). Then again, and looking at the votes in the other thread, seems like the 22-card deck's the leading one. :)

Or, as an alternative, maybe see if anyone here can get a good deal on professional printing, perhaps?
