Hi ! Just want to show you something. A few month ago I started to create a Lenormand deck. I allready have ten. Maybe you are interested in the progress. The newest card is the "Women". http://www.langustl.de/lenormandmotive.html Means something like being passive. In contrast to the man, who is active. They're charming, Langustl! I have to tell you though, that when I saw the title of the thread (Langustl Lenormand...!), I had a very odd mental moment and wondered if I'd accidently taken something hallucinatory.... Pen |

Hi Goldenweb Hm , I´m not really sure, whether I´ve understood what you mean .... |

Hi Langustl, not sure how to explain what I meant... except to say that I read the thread title and thought for an instant that I'd read it wrongly. Maybe that was because I always associate the Lenormand with antique decks, and the title seemed to suggest (for a second or two) that someone was looking for an antique Langustl Lenormand or had found one and wanted to show everyone... The tonal technique and the way the different areas are separated gives the paintings a quilted satin effect - most unusual and engaging. And yes, let's become millioniares and buy all the rare tarots our hearts desire... Pen |

Hi, Stefan. I have a question. In your tarot deck, you used some traditional meanings and some non-traditional meanings. Are you doing this in your Lenormand deck, too? For example, why, in 2009: woman = passive and man = active? |

Goldenweb wrote:The tonal technique and the way the different areas are separated gives the paintings a quilted satin effect - most unusual and engaging. Thanks dear Pen ;-) Well, Lulukat told me, how she thinks you meant your "hallucinatory-thing". Why do I paint a Lenormand, right? Well, Lenormand is interesting to me, because I´m a little busy with it. In my view it´s possible to find a system too, something like this. I show you, maybe it leads too far to discuss. All the cards have reflections on the other side and such things, very logical. You must know, I´m a Mr. "Cards System" ;-)) The letters mean the elements. L(Luft)=air, the rest should be clear. Lulukat wrote: I'll kick ya too ; ) You do all the time, and I love you for that ;-)) Debra wrote: I have a question. In your tarot deck, you used some traditional meanings and some non-traditional meanings. Are you doing this in your Lenormand deck, too? Hi Debra dear Well, that´s right. It´s the same way as I did with the Tarot. I take the old things, think about it, try to understand the sens, keep the most I can, and make the "necessary" changes or adds. For example, why, in 2009: woman = passive and man = active? Man and women for me are symbols for Adam and Eva (Eve?). This is also a psychological thing. They are the male and female principals that communicate in ourselves. They are extremes, pure principales, but they also appear in concrete persons in our concrete life as a mirror, both. The psyche of man and women are not as clear as we think, in my opinion. A man is maybe more women inside and a women more man, as they guess. We always are wondering (swinging) from one extreme or pole to the other. So maybe the man "climbs up the hill", but he nevertheless is very near to the water. The same with the women. You know what I mean. This example assumes the idea of rebirth and the possible change of sex. Lulukat wrote: Yeah I was wondering about that, too, by the way. Or maybe it's a "German" thing ? I would like to claim, it´s a special "Langustl thing" ;-)) The German Lenormand "aunts" are also a little confused about my brain acrobatics p.s. Lulukat, I like your current avatar. First, I want to applaud the breast reduction surgery; she will be much happier in the long run with fewer back problems and the insidious claws of gravity. If only it were so easy. Second, when you get these to a deck, I GOTTA have one!! They are a gas! I LOVE the horseman and the absolute urgency conveyed. I adore the turtle under the tree, too. So, make sure you let us know when these are available! |

I just saw that your cards are 12x18 cm. Is that the size of the orignial artwork or the size the deck will be printed? I have to admit that I have some trouble shuffling your tarot deck although my hands aren't too small. I sort of hoped for a smaller deck here. Or have you by any chance considered also to publish a pocket version of it? Say 6x8 or even smaller? |
|||||||||
Langustl Member

Hi Trzes 12 x 18 is the size of the original artwork. The Lenormand will be in a normal Lenormand size. I also would like to publis a pocket version of my Tarot, but that is not possible in the moment. |

Hi Langustl Vielen Dank! (thanks very much for the instant info) Normal Lenormand size will be perfect for me! If you should ever get round to publish a pocket tarot version I'll be very pleased to buy a copy of this one too. |
