Don't give up hope. I have purchased many decks in like-new condition on eBay for far less than their typical high-bid sale prices (75% less in some instances) by jumping on "Buy it Now" opportunities as soon as they appear.
It is just a matter of being diligent and cultivating a daily checklist of eBay tarot sellers who prefer to use "Buy it Now."
You can also set up your eBay account to notify you when certain items are listed; unfortunately, eBay's notification system is typically too slow to "get the jump" on any serious competition (24 hours late in some instances).
One other technique that I have used successfully is to occasionally Google the name of the deck. Sometimes the name of a small retail store that has a copy for sale will appear in the search results. I found a couple of my decks this way, for very reasonable prices, long after those decks were out of print.
