Hey all.

I am looking for input on some Rune cards I won recently on eBay. They only came with 24 cards and that's it, no other information. Here is a picture of three of them.

I have just started learning the Runes and have a question about two of these cards. From what little I have read the last few days I would almost say that the two cards showing face up have the symbols reversed. The one on the left looks like it should be Teiwaz and the one on the right should be Sowulo. Is anyone familiar with this deck or know enough about Runes to say whether my assumption is on track?

I'm not sure it makes much difference when casting runes as they have no alternate or reversed attributes.

If you look on this site, the carving for Jera on the rune is one way, and the character of Jera in the list is slightly different, because the rune shows the right side is above the other, and on the list, the left side is above.

Thanks for that info Quidlimit. I did notice that one of the sigils on these cards (Hagalaz) is reversed from what it is in all the books I've seen. I read somewhere that this is not especially uncommon.

I guess what I was asking though, which I probably didn't express adequately, is whether the images should be reversed. The image for Teiwaz looks like it belongs on Sowulo and vice versa. But being new to the Runes I don't know if this would be the case or not.

Oh, I see.

Well the sun is on Teiwaz, and the brave guy fighting the dragon is on Sowulo, so in general you are right, they do look mixed up considering that Sowulo is the sun rune and Teiwaz deals with bravery.

Could be a printing or proofing error. Too bad, it would be nice if it was correct.
