I have managed to find an art history student to assist me in completing the descriptive catalogue of the collection. She will begin work later in January and hopefully be able to make a considerable impact on the project. At the moment I have 1100 items in my descriptive catalogue, but this is considerably less than half the tarots. When this is completed it will be the main source for information about the artwork of modern tarot. In order to raise some funds to pay her for the work involved, I will be selling off some of the duplicates in my collection. I will probably do this through a series of auctions beginning in January. I have been gratified that one of my contacts in Russia, has kindly offered to supply me for free, a number of her tarots which I can also sell to help raise funds. If anyone else would wish to follow her initiative and donate some items to these auctions to raise funding, please get in touch. |

Will you be selling them thru Ebay or thru this or other web sites? If Ebay, what is your user name so we can quickly search for you. Will you have a list of items that you will be selling? Last edited on Fri Dec 28th, 2012 06:05 am by skad1 |

I interviewed a Ph.D. student in Art History a few days ago and we agreed that she will work on finishing the catalogue starting later in January. She has excellent skills in building databases and scanning items so I have every confidence in her abilities. When I showed her some examples she was very surprised at the broad nature of tarot art. This further confirmed my suspicion that the artwork found in modern tarot is undervalued by art historians and is marginalised as ephemera. I plan to partly fund the cost of employing her through auctioning off some tarot material beginning in January. I will post details here shortly. |
