There is apparently more than 1 version of Font of Peter Balin's (1976) Xultun Tarot.
I have the version that is not like the font in the accompanying book "Flight of the feathered Serpent" (1977) which looks close to Comic Sans, but is likely hand-drawn.
I think they upgraded or changed the font on 2nd print runs.
To be clearer the pip cards like "Warrior" have a different font on the bottom of the card in the book "Flight of the feathered Serpent". What I have on my deck is a black background with white text in different languages and different font, for the same cards.
Reference: Encyclopedia of Tarot, vol. I, pp. 287-290
Description: First edition of the Xultun Tarot, which differed from subsequent printings in several ways: 1) The cards were larger (3-1/2 in. x 5-3/8 in., vs. 2-15/16 in. x 4-9/16 in. for the later editions), 2) The backs were brown, rather than green with the feathered serpent icon printed twice, rather than repeated many times, and 3) The typography used for the minor arcana cards was substantially different, and the titles were given in English only (rather than in several languages, as presented in the later editions).
If anyone has any knowledge of another Xultun deck 1st Edition, (like that of Pages 130,134,138, 142 of Flight of the Feathered Serpent ISBN 0-910261-01-6 )
I'd be glad to hear from you.
