There are an number of circular decks but not many elleptical ones. So this is immediately unusual.
The artwork is in coloured pencil, but some parts are strongly coloured. The colour saturation there is quite high. I show an example of the Tower and the Ace of Hearts.
The deck was produced in 1994 and I suspect that there are few copies left even of the second printing. The cards are thin though well laminated and the ellipses have been professionally die cut. It is well worth buying at a modest price.

Well, I'm a girly girl so I'm drawn to those pastel colors and floral designs very easily.:P
And thank you Q. I'd never looked at the Parrott. I see what you are saying, but I'm drawn to the Parrot for it's intense use of symbolism. It would be a challenging study. It's a deck I would take the time to write a review about.
I see the Beth's Floral Ellipse as more of a theme deck, I think. Beautiful to look at, maybe good to read with for certain people, but not a deck I would consider strong and deeply adept. But, from a collector perspective, I'd love to have it. 
What threw me off it the listing states:
...AFTER FREE HAND SKETCHING AND PAINTING THEM FOR 4 YEARS THIS 80 CARD DECK IS FINALLY COMPLETE...OUR COPYRIGHT IS 1994, BUT IT TOOK UNTIL NOW TO GET THEM PRINTED......
So, are they saying they copyrighted them in 94, but never printed till now?
I think I'll send the seller a note and ask if they are handmade or not.

I though so as well...and then her price for the deck is so reasonable.
When I was younger, I worked as a dye cutting machine operator for an embroidery patch manufacture. It was hard work, very hard work. I cannot imagine doing it manually. :shock:

I AM BETH'S HUSBAND AND I RETIRED HER I990.... BECAUSE OF HER COLLECTION, ABILITY TO READ TAROT CARDS AND A BACK GROUND IN ART AND FASHION DESIGN I SUGGESTED SHE PAINT HER OWN DECK.....
TO MAKE IT UNIQUE, I SUGGESTED THE OVAL.... WITH MY MATH BACKGROUND I SHOWED HER HOW AND SHE STARTED CUTTING OVALS FROM ART PAPER ABOUT 1/4" LARGER THAN THE PRINTED CARDS ARE NOW..... I ALSO SUGGESTED THAT SHE USE FLOWERS BECAUSE OF HER LOVE OF GROWING THEM AND PAINTING THEM....
IT TOOK HER 4 YEARS TO MAKE 80 SMALL PAINTINGS BY ORIGINAL SKETCHING AND PAINTING USING WATER COLOR, ACRYLICS, PASTELS AND A LITTLE COLORED PENCIL TO GET THE EFFECT SHE WANTED.... SHE TOLD ME THE HANGMAN WHILE SKETCHING AND PAINTING IT TURNED 180 DEGREES AS THOUGH HE WERE UPRIGHT.....
IN 1994 WHILE IN WASHINGTON, DC WE STOPPED AT THE LIBRARY OF CONGRESS AN PICKED UP THE NECESSARY PAPERS FOR COPYRIGHT..... WITH PICTURE & DESCRIPTIONS FOR $20 SHE COPYRIGHTED THEM....
IN 2004 WE HAD A FRIEND SCAN THEM, LAY THEM OUT 4 PER PAGE AND ADD THE COLOR TO THE OUTSIDE ( GREEN FOR ARCANA. DIFFERENT COLORS FOR SUITS & PINK FOR THE BACK).... THE CENTERS ARE HER PAINTINGS.....
SHE PRINTS THEM 4 PER SHEET, LAMINATES THEM AND USING A DIE STRIKING IT WITH A HAMMER CUTS THEM TRULY A LABOR OF LOVE....... IT IS TOO EXPENSIVE TO CUT THE COMMERCIALLY BECAUSE OF THE SHAPE WHICH IS MY FAULT.....
WE HAVE TO THIS POINT SOLD NUMBERED 56 DECKS TOTAL ON EBAY........ I HAVE THEM UP FOR AUCTION AT THE PRESENT TIME....

I love pink. I also use the same materials as your wife: coloured pencil, watercolour, sometimes acrylic, and often pen and ink. I understand what kind of time and effort artwork takes. It also take commitment to finish a big project and publish it.
Don't take it personally when someone doesn't want to buy your wife's deck. She can be any way she wants to be as an artist, but not everyone is going to buy her deck. Accepting that is part of being a professional artist.

Beth should set up a web site to publicise her deck. I would be happy to create a link to this on my own Art Tarot web site, but it is pointless linking to an ebay auction because that web address is short lived.
You should really consider creating a web site with lots of text and images. Then it will be possible for people to get in touch and easily buy a copy using a Paypal button.

I feel confused.
Cutting the cards with a die cutter and hammer makes the deck even more unique and appealing and is a true indicator of the artist passion for the perfection of each individual deck.
Crock6, Did you take offense? Please don't. Also, please consider the deck being discussed on this forum a testiment to it's interest worthiness and attention of serious deck collectors.
I was pleased and delighted when she shared the imformation with me. Also, I offered to feature the deck on The Tarot Channel, http://www.thetarotchannel.com, but she declined and said she would like to think about it. I thought it was unusual because artist usually appreciate the free publicity, but again I was delighted to hear more about the deck as I was to see your posting with more on the history. So, thank you for sharing. :)
