It's from Muller, BTW - I put this in a subheading which has vanished....
I don't want to say much just now; I saw this in a store yesterday and bought it.
I am startled. I would like to know someone else's views before I say why, in case I am completely mad or this is an unusual copy....
Anyone else have it ?

Gregory,
How could you be completely mad? Tell us about the deck, do - or better still post a few images - I'm really curious now.

Ir just looks like my photos do when I run them through photoshop's watercolour option for a laugh.... Frankly crappy. (On the outside of the box they look perfectly normal - but the pix there are very small....)
This made me wonder if I had a dud print. I will post scans tomorrow....

Sadly the scans don't look qute as bad as the deck, but here you go:

From those scans it looks like this deck may be among the 'turkey of all turkeys' alongside the Charmed and that wolf deck that I stubbornly resist buying.
The Kippen Tarot was great fun, but it may be that the creators of the Power Animal deck may not entirely grasp the concept of irony.
That said, I must get a copy as an example of how bad tarot art can get !

Hi gregory,
Thanks for posting the scans - but... not as bad?! They're strange, and quite bad enough - I can see why you were surprised. The oddness of the resolution (if that's what it is) would be lost with the small pics on the outside of the pack, but nevertheless, it's difficult to see how you could have bought one different from the publisher's intentions/the rest of the printing. It's clear that they're photographs - if the intention was to make them look like watercolours, the process should have been taken way further by someone who had more of a feel for the process.
I can't help raising the question: are publishers turning out cards (& getting them cheaply printed in China) too rapidly to maintain artistic integrity? Some of the the LS cards (the ones designed with the mannikin software programme on another thread) would seem to reflect this too.

Perhaps unsurprisingly, no artist's name appears on the cards, in the LWB or on the box........
Yes, they look worse in real life. PROMISE !
The Kippen is LOVELY

It's probably just that no "artist" was harmed in the creation of this deck.
It's much more cost efficient that way, no?

Amazing that a major publisher released this deck. There are hundreds of digital decks like this on the Internet. I still think to qualify as one of the worst decks, a deck should be hand crafted in some way. It's just too easy to create bad decks like this.
I'm fond of the Tapestry Tarot. Now that took a lot of work and time.

After those statements I had to Google Kippen Tarot and see what you were talking about. It does look fun! I had to email her and see if I can get a deck.
PS-the Wolf Pack Tarot isn't all that bad. At least there was serious thinking about the cards, and they are not some Photoshop mass production like the big prublishers are making.
