Hello - I am new to this forum although I have been reading Tarot since I was just a kid. I've been studying and reading for a long time. Always felt an affinity for Tarot. I had just a few decks for many years and then started collecting about 5 years ago (something I always wanted to do but could never afford). I nowhave at least 100 decks; I have no real idea!!!

I need to organize my collection and somehow track what I have and the genre - maybe using an excel spreadsheet. Would love tips from the organized collecting veterans out there! I have almost bought a deck I already have several times and need to develop an easy reference tool to make sure I avoid that!

Looking forward to getting to know you all and more about the Tarot :)

Hi Genie, welcome to TCF! There's a thread that mentions tarotgarden's software for a database here:

http://www.tarotcollectors.com/view_topic.php?id=1162&forum_id=3&highlight=tarot+database

and another that discusses different methods here:

Hope that helps...

Hi Genie, welcome. I keep an Excel spreadsheet of mine, although I don't even have as many as you do!

I've got one sheet that shows what I have on order, who I ordered it from, what day I ordered it, a column for when it shipped (if I get that info), and a column for price (that's the scary one!)

One sheet shows what I currently own, another is a 'want' list.

A fourth shows the ones I'm actively watching (soon-to-be-released, etc.)

All color-coded as well :)

Mine's in Access, but I back it up in excel by using the "show spreadsheet" feature. It has all sorts of excessive detail. I am a nerd !

Welcome !

Thanks so much for all of the ideas! I will check out the software but may do it in excel because I already have it. Nice to be amongst fellow collectors :)
