I was wandering through taroteca and came across this: http://taroteca.multiply.com/photos/album/403/Magicians

Can't figure out how to embed a photo and have it work. Egad ... it did work!

This deck seems to be made from old advertising material for various fairground magicians ... or made to appear like it.  Very curious deck.

Anyone have any information on it?

Its one of the decks from the Orphalese Tarot - if I'm not mistaken it only exists inside there and not as a physical deck.

the link to is is here scoll down some bit : http://www.orphalese.net/decksbydominatrix.aspx?chosenculture=nl

The Orphalese Tarot site states about his deck : "
The Tarot of the Magicians is a feast for the eyes. Based on the rich imagery of old stage magic and theatrical conjuring, the deck is well researched and features many famous magicians from the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. The sepia court cards are decorated with poker-style pips and are clearly differentiated from the Majors and the "people" cards which appear in full colour. The deck was a long term project and the time and care taken to put the collection together is obvious. The deck also includes such treats as the astonishing feat of self decapitation and head levitation that illustrates the Fool: do not attempt this at home."

Drats I say Mr la-Luna ... only available on Ophalese.  Hrummph:(!  Thanks for the information though:dude:.  I don't use Orphalese.    Of course I could be really, really bad and ... er ... illegally ... print off a copy of the deck for myself.  But of course, being a completely honest soul ... I wouldn't dream of such a thing.

Actually ... I probably won't ... my moral compass is stuck on "Irritating-Pain-In-The-Bottom".  Gosh, I never even took home pens from work. I think it is all that equally irritating Virgo clumped in a huge pile in my chart.  I did return a library book 23 years after it's due date ... and drove over 100 kms round trip to do it too.  But ... it was my ex-husband who'd taken it out of the library.  What surprised me most was that he hadn't just stolen it in the first place ... he always had a wide streak of larceny in his soul.  One of the many areas of difference between us.  Now I am completely off the topic.  Sorry :(!
