Some time ago, a few of us sponsored an ambitious Ex Libris project by the artist Jurij Jakovenko, and I'm happy to post some photos of the incredible results here.
The work was produced in an edition of 60 copies, hand printed from the original etched copper plates.
Sponsors agreed in advance to trade copies of their print with all others, so that all involved received a full set of the 22 finished prints.
Congratulations to Mr Jakovenko, and all who participated in helping to make this project happen!

Wow, indeed.
I got my set Saturday (rather scarily just left in my mailbox) and each time I look through them, I just see more and more. The detail (both physical and symbolic) is just incredible.
A really stunning accomplishment by Mr. Jakovenko.

It's spectacular. Oh, man.
The photos are terrific--thanks, OnePotato.
If it's ex libris size--very fine detail, right? A magnifying glass to see them clearly?

Actually, they're pretty big for ex libris (ex libri? ex librises?). For scale, they're printed on 8.5 x 11 inch paper.
But yes, the detail is insane.

Ya, as I said, "boy oh Boy Oh BOYYYY...!!!"
He's quite a Master of Etching.
I'm curious about some of his techniques. Not sure how he achieves some of the effects.
I was surprised at how big the images actually turned out to be, but the detail is still incredible.
Here are a few detail shots done with LittleWindow's clip-on macro attachment for her i-Phone....
(Unfortunately, she didn't tell me which ones she was shooting. I think some are not pictured here.)
