I just recieved a copy of the Circle Deck.

http://www.thecircledeck.com/

I am going to write a review on it and I must say for a oracle type deck, it is quite nice and pleasently different.

The cards are excellent quality and the companion book is short and to the point....just the way I like it.

I'm about the read the companion book...

Anyone have this deck or any thoughts about the concept of the pie shaped cards?

I draw mandalas myself, so like the concept.

Ambriel, could you post the measurements of the cards please? I'd like to get and idea of height, width of the overall card and the actual size of the graphics. Thanks.

:P I didn't forget about you Q....I just left the deck on my desk at work and couldn't get back to it till this morning.  Please forgive. :)

The cards are 4 inches wide at the widest point and 1/2 inch at the narrow point.  The are 5 1/2 inches long.  The cards fit nicely into a regular sized tarot tote.

I've read the companion book, now I need a willing soul to let me read for them with it.  Then I can write my review.

I wish I had a scanner so I could post some images. :?

I am not familiar with mandalas, but I am interested to learn more about it.

I like the simplistic layout of the spread in the book.  The cards are placed in a circle, obviously.  And the positions are:

1) Focus 2) Desire 3) Outside Influences 4) Inner Dialog 5) Challenges 6) Insight 7) Meditation 8) Resoultion

Absolutely! The work/home thing--I bet it's a rare person who can take a tarot deck into work, that's kind of neat.

I love the big cards too, and thanks for the info. on spreads.

It has rather cute art, but doesn't have the depth I expected.

I have it up for trade in the Trading Forum. Will take used decks in combination if anyone wants to trade some stuff that didn't jive with them.

Details here:

http://www.tarotcollectors.com/view_topic.php?id=166&forum_id=6

p.s. I've decided to use paper dolls in conjunction with art materials to draw mandalas instead. It was a livelier, more expressive method! They can stand on my art desk and pose for me while I draw them.

Plus I get to put hats on the ladies and change their hairstyle. I've got one coming with a Mondrian dress and red stockings that is crying out for a new hat, hairstyle and a gorgeous mandala behind her.

{Edited to add the visual. Crying out for a mandala she is. That hat is just not going to work. Art by Tom Tierney courtesy of Dover. Where would the world be without Dover?}
