Hello,

Does anyone have or know how to get the midnight masquerade deck? I think that's the title it may be fantasy masquerade? I just know it has masquerade in the title and has those italien style masquerade masks on the cards. If anyone has information on this deck I'l really appreciate it. I would be willing to trade or even buy if it's within reason.

Thanks

Jen

Whoops, mistake.  I thought you were looking for a different deck.  But just in case you weren't, the Midnight Masquerade Deck by  Robyn Tisch Hollister is currently available on the AT trading thread at: http://www.tarotforum.net/showthread.php?t=122631

The other Masquerade deck also has Venetian masks - and is virtually unobtainable - but you could ask baby_dream on ebay.....

Robyn's is technically oop, but there are usually some to be had...

Thank you very much. It must be the midnight masquerade tarot, but I could have sworn there was another deck that had all venetian style masks. Well I guess it gives me something to hunt for.

Thanks again

The one baby_dream got for several of us was the Maschera - stunning. There is one on ebay now - 290322912047- but at $115.....

Not cheap - but it is all masks, and very lovely, on sort of glittery stock.

I've been watching, wishing it wasn't quite so expensive, because it really is interesting.

You might be thinking of the de la Rea, which is all masks too.

Actually, it might be the Carnevale that Jen has seen :

It's the same glittery card stock like the Maschera, which Chronata both owned, then sold to those to "you-know-who" who then sold it on "you-know-where".

:m

There's another masquerade tarot, which kinda sucks, though.

Either way, Chronata's MM is the way to go ; )

It's the kind of deck that you'd be stoked about if you bought it for $30.

I love shiny sparkly things and this is definitely a deck I'd consider buying but thankfully I've already seen it in person and if I was you, I wouldn't feel bad - you're not missing out (all in context of the price, of course).

I found that they were hard cards to take photo's of and pick up the sparkle. The card stock is the same as the
Carnevale .This copy did come from Chronata  and I paid 100.00 for it.I don't recall what baby dream originally sold them for....

... and the cardstock is to die for.  I used to shuffle it just to hear that little zip!zip! sound the cards make against one another.  Like little kids wearing snowpants :D

... that's the Maschera one, mind you.  If you only want one deck of masks, Chronata's is the way to go.

... well, or the de la Rea ...

Oh yes, I had that one too, back in the day.  I liked a few of the majors very much.

And there's the Coming Fantasy Valley (or is it Coming Valley Fantasy?), which I had also got from baby_dream and for which I can't be bothered at the moment to find the link.  But it's on TG.

The only Carnevale I've seen has a happy new owner in Germany ... I doubt that it will come around again. I really liked that one a lot!

There is also a copy of the Carnavale Tarot in the Netherlands.. in my collection to be precise. It is from Taiwan and the author is called Fang Yu. I got it from Baby_Dream of course. Don't know how easily she could get it again, but you can always ask.

And there's one in the UK too - also from baby_dream.

A fine woman - but an expensive friend.....

I asked her recently ... she had told me that the Carnevale is pretty much impossible to obtain. :sd

No I don't think so; she is on ebay though and has a store: baby_dream.

Her ebay store is here.

You may be wise to avoid beginning a Beautiful Friendship with her unless you have money and / or can resist temptation and emails with pictures and things......

tell me about it.  But the decks are something else.  I got a Jugendstil from her and I am really happy about it.  I was alittle concerned about the price, but wow.  Now If she only find another carnival one, and pass it my way.

Hey, I can dream, can't I?

I have avoided the RPG decks, then *someone* has to post the Coming Fantasy one.  I need that millionaire we talked about in another post!

Tis rather nice :hp

May I recommend MOST highly the way I do things - buy 'em when they come out and are reasonable priced !!!! Then giggle nastily at everyone who didn't ! (and blush over the Priapo that I DIDN'T buy at the time I was first offered and had to pay loads for !)

Ah, I finally I can do the nasty giggling:hp.

Ok, so I paid way too much for most of my Folchi's... BUT... I did get the Priapo at the normal price before it went oop :cl

baby Dream quoted me $100 for the Maschera...which is why I bought the Carnevale instead from her...because it had more cards for the same price!

I originally got the Maschera from Jackdaw.

At one point I was collecting all Masquerade/carnevale/carnival decks.
I even had a line on the Folchi one...

Ah, but then not getting evicted seemed somehow much more important. :?

I still miss the ones I had...because they really were gorgeous. But I really never used them.

I really should make myself another copy of the Midnight Masquerade while I'm at it...or...um...finish the deck...someday.

I'm surprised; she charged me $80 for the Maschera; I still have the records of what I paid her. Mangaart often charges more - and her postage is scary.
