Having 2 places does make alot more complicated for me, and I don't do complicated well anymore. And FB is alot easier for me. And Adam is on FB now. But since it is TCF deck, I post here. Hi everyone, I've never been part of a collaborative deck before but I'd love to:) If possible, I'll take the hanged man and nine of swords for now, possibly some others somewhere down the line if need be. I have one question though, what pixel dimensions do you have for the cards? I don't know if you need 300dpi or 600 or something else? Hi Skad1, thanks so much for adding me:) I had looked at sizing post as well as went into the threads from a year or so ago but I didn't see a mention of pixel size. That is always easiest for me to work with. Three inches could be a whole different number of pixel sizes depending on dpi but a pixel is a pixel and that doesn't change. Easiest on my brain too I think. :P So you're good with a 750px x 1125px then? Just double and triple checking before I dig in:) |

This seems the only thread on this deck, so is the only place to raise this WITH TCF MEMBERS. I hate facebook - this is well known. I am resigned to some of the discussion and updates being done there, though I still think the PRIMARY place should be here. However now we are seeing a slew of names listed against cards, artists who are not members here. How is this a TCF deck, then ? I am sure their work will be wonderful. However - they are NOT TCF members and should NOT be doing cards for a deck going out by that name. When this came up a few years ago - someone who had an artist friend who wanted to do a card was told that that was fine - SO LONG AS THAT FRIEND BECAME A MEMBER - even if only for that purpose. As far as I am concerned that should still be an absolute condition - or stop calling it a TCF deck, as it won't be one. It may be the best collaborative deck in tarot history - but it will NOT be a TCF deck. I would like to see all these "strangers" join TCF - or not do cards. It may be too late for this year - though as it happens registration is open at this moment and they could all sign up very fast - but can we please make this an absolute requirement for next year ? Maybe not the right thread - but for 2017 - if anyone is looking for ideas or themes - I thought it might be nice to have a deck that represents ethniticities world-wide or cultures world-wide - it could be all the religions of the world, all the peoples of the world (hey - maybe that's two decks:) After all - tarot binds all of us together around the earth. And I haven't actually seen a deck like that (but I'm sure there is one). Just a thought. |

I've never met but one or two of you but I know we are all of one mind when it comes to Tarot and we've been in each other's life for a decade or more. I really heard alot of bitching even about a single, simple blue line. The Fool Deck was only 22 cards and I had problems getting people for it. I have become resigned to the fact this is a no theme deck. |

Borderless would work, though. I hate themed decks, myself, I admit. I think they just can't be made to work for a collaborative. What about the membership issue ? Registration is open just now and it would be nice if contributors were members of the forum the deck represents and is named for... |

One Potato was the leader for the 1st deck (2007), Marcia and Gregory took it over one year (2011?) and said never again.. Last year I waited to see if anyone would volunteer, which is why we had a short time to do the cards (no one volunteered). I really don't mind doing it, I like organizing stuff. The only part I'm not crazy about is collecting the money, but it's a small part of the whole job, so no prob. New listing up, there are still 20 cards looking for a home. Or should I say, only 20 cards left to find a home? I don't like to no border because I think the border and same type of text on each card is what makes it a cohesive deck. I did post, well, a post in the FB thread (lol) inviting the non TCF website members to sign up for membership here. Not sure but some may have genuine problems signing up even until now. A solution I can think of wouls be to create "dummy" accounts for them, give then give the account details to each non-member (so they could change stuff like emaol and password)? Or you think that wouldn't work as well? |

But that's the thing - supposedly, that new members policy thing has been cleared, or as least it's easy to register here again - like the times when we registered here. I just tested it now to see how easy it will be for me to register a new account - this is Bluetoy, by the way. Will delete this account later. Just created it to test if indeed the registration process is more open now than during those... trolls troubled times. |

This forum is open now JUST for that purpose. (Sadly we are still troubled by trolls.) And if it weren't - a couple of years ago, you, Skad were one of those who agreed that one member could bring in a friend to do a card - as long as that friend joined. If not - how is it a TCF deck ? I am the gatekeeper. If someone is actually on my LIST to be admitted at the next window - I am OK counting them as a member. The address to contact me is at the top of every page. I always answer - and fast. |

I'm working on my cards this weekend. Also, my friend Gabe Narciso has his Emperor ready to scan. Gabe is very reclusive, 21, an art student and really worked to include the Emperor symbolism in his effort. He was open to suggestions (for instance, his first effort had a mitre that would too easily be mistaken for the Hierophant; he changed it to a very recognizable crown). I appreciate your openness to accepting a new and budding artist. I know it's a little controversial since he isn't online. But he isn't online anywhere; it's not personal. I can provide a photo of him to prove he's a real person, very quiet and very earnest about his talent. I think you'll like what he's done. O wow I love all the cards I've seen so far, and am just wondering "how can I get hold of a copy when it's ready?!!" Also, is this something that is published using member's financial contributions - can we make donations to it or something? I may not be an artist (well I could draw at school but that was on paper using coloured pencils and felt tips lol - wouldn't have a clue where to begin online though!), but would like to contribute to its publication somehow as a new member nevertheless. |

Sorry, deck is available to artwork contributors only. If someone declines their copy, it goes back in the pile and becomes available for someone to get a second copy. That's about the only rule I have enforced. If you want to get your copy and give/sell it to someone else, that is up to you. The cards are all gone for this year, but we will probably do one for 2017. Artistic ability not required, this is a great way to get comfortable with the idea. Plus there is a great group of people to answer questions and help. And, hey, crayons and brown paper would work. Hasn't been done yet, so that'd be cool. as far as copying a border from another deck, there are copyright issues, as well this is our deck and it has our border. The border is what unifies the deck into one entity, rather than 78 cards. The back design is also used only for this deck. New listing up, new format, shows only cards that haven't had high resolution cards sent to me. So if you have posted a card on the forum, you still need to get the high res to me. Tentative High Priestess card. Done in a style I developed which I call "Planaren" (originally for a playing card series). In the beginning, I intended to use a totally different style for the card, and I might just do that. But at least if ever I don't get to finish that on time, I can use this as a substitute. 21 cards still out from 12 people. And one of those is in the process, so it is really 20 cards from 11 people. 4 people haven't gotten hold of me. Cedarrose is only on the forum, so I'll try there again. Please get hold of me if you are still interested, but going to be late. If I don't hear, I'll asume you aren't interested anymore. Well, after the 15th I'll assume, I guess you have afew more days to think about it. If you know Cedarose, can you ping him to see if he's still interested. He was the first one to post a card, but never a final cards or anything else. |

New listing up, this time I just the cards out and the master with everything. Only one person didn't contact me, and he hasn't been active here on the forum, so I'll give him acouple more days, then those cards will be available. Luckily there's only 2. Everyone else has let me know they're working on them. It takes me awhile to get the cards and the lwb formatted, so it's cool. But if I need to re-assign those cards, the person getting them deserves alittle time to work on them. This year we have had almost everyone turn in a description and bio, and there's still time! The cards are really good this year. We have a nice mix of styles. So, anyone up for a Christmas deck? |

All the Majors I have have been loaded into the border and formatted. We have some awesome cards! The only one I am wondering about is the Sun, I thought it would work out well, but it seems alittle more pixelated than I'd like. Gina, it's your call. Cedarose has mot came thru with his two cards, so the Hanged Man and Nine of Swords are available. Too bad they weren't available when Stefan picked his cards, he could have been gloomy to his hearts content! Double check my spelling, and anything else that catches your eye. Oh, and if you notice, there are two Deaths,, Debra said it's up to us which we use, the color or the black and white. Color seems better once it's in the card, don't cha think? Hi one and all I know this has been mentioned elsewhere... but what do Members and Participants here think about the numberbering of the pips? If you notice, they have a leading zero; 02, 03, 04 etc. I would rather that they did NOT (sorry skid) What does anyone else reckon? |

I had talked myself out of the lwb, it's a pain, etc, etc. But this weekend I talked myself back into it. It wasn't good to make everyone else do the info, then not get it. Especially since we had really good participation this year, So formatting and proofing have happened, and the final file is at the printer for me to pick up tomorrow. With the lwb costs in, I can give you the final costs. (bet you were beginning to wonder!) There are extra decks available so if you want a second deck, it's first come for them. Deck and lwb will cost $24.50 USD. With Shipping: In USA one deck in envelope- 3.00 (total 27.50) one deck in priority box- 6.80 (total 31.30) two decks in priority box- 6.80 (total 55.80) Outside USA one deck in envelope- 8.85 (total 33.35 USD) one deck in priority box- 33.95 (total 58.45 USD) two decks in priority box- 33.95 (total 82.95 USD) two decks in 2 envelopes- (total 66.70 USD) ----------------------------------- I have more of the Tyvek shipping envelopes that we used last year. But last year was the first time I have ever had packages go missing, so I don't recommend them, especially for international. Unfortunatly, that is where they make the biggest difference. It's up to you, depending on how many people get an extra deck, there may be no extra to send if your envelope goes missing. The ones that went missing were 2 decks in the envelope, none of the single deck in an envelope went missing. If you want 2 decks it would be alot cheaper and probable safer to ship in separate envelopes. I have added in the shipping to send a deck to Adam and the Meseu in Italy. (in an envelope) Please pay all Paypal fees. Fees are generated if there is a currency conversion or if you are paying with a credit card. I am not making any profit on this deck, so please don't make me pay your fees. If the fees add up to quite a bit, I will refuse the payment, and have you send again. All my estimates are in US Dollars. If you don't have my Paypal ID, either text or email me and I'll send it to you. I apologize for taking so long this year. It's been quite a year.
