8 of Pentacles:
With loving concentration a lady practises drawing pentacles on sheets of paper. The garden seen through the opening indicates the element of Earth, the books under her seat that she is studying illumination and calligraphy. The blue line on this card forms the nearly completed pentacle she’s working on. It’s really difficult to draw perfect pentacles freehand – it could take her years…

Ah, these are lovely. Coloring and the way they fill the page are just terrific.
I's struck by your use of a spider-webby background pattern in three of them.
And I wonder if you knew in advance that the Knight's horse would be rooted like a tree, or if that developed as you worked on the painting.

The idea of the lines came from the first cards I did for the TCF last year - all the cards except the 5 of Wands. They're an attempt to emphasise the dynamics or energy of the action or the focal point, and the medium of coloured inks on white scraper board was chosen so that I could scribe them in at the end, through the ink.
Unfortunately although this worked to some extent with the scraper boards I bought last year, I found that the gesso on the only ones I could find this time was too thin, so I ended up using white ink (tiny yellow circles for the Fool), with a brush and losing the sharpness I wanted. Funny though, as I hadn't noticed that three were similarly spider-webby this year...
I guess I could have done them digitally, but to be honest I don't really like the way the two disiplines sit together - either that or I'm not expert enough to make it work in the way I'd like.
It's really good to have the chance to create minors for something worthwhile, and to become immersed in each meaning and image. Publishing a full deck myself in a small edition would make the finished product prohibitively expensive for most collectors, and I'm not sure I have the stamina to work consistently on a 78 card deck from start to finish without becoming jaded. Making a few each year like this feels good, and I'm not committed to doing a whole deck - I can change styles if I feel like it.
Re. the wooden horse - the idea was in my head before I began, but the little oak seedling sort of sprang up by itself as I was working on the sketches...

I too have been working on my cards.. finally! After weeks and weeks of procrastinating... 
Since I really like Black&White and it is cool to have a few sprinkled through the deck, this one is Black&White. And yes Skad1, WITH the blue line  . I can have Black&White and Blue Line all in one...  .
The card was inspired by a manga I recently read. There was this one frame in it, that just really seemed to fit the 9 of swords. So I spend this afternoon drawing a similar picture, reworking it and then editing on the computer.
So presenting the 9 of Swords:
Despair, depression, worrying, negative thoughts constantly on your mind. The swords (thoughts) are all around the main figure, because it is all she can see. There are however always other possibilities and not everything is as black&white as it seems (blue line).

Is she asleep, meditating, or even dead? It being the 9/Swords she isn't dead of course, but you have to take another look and imagine how she feels with those swords around her, pointing both at and away from her. I like that this isn't nightmarish, it requires a lot more thought!

Interesting! To read your thoughts on the card I made. I hadn't realized it had this ambiguous quality. Looking ahead or from above, asleep, meditating or even dead. That hadn't crossed my mind when making this card. Maybe because in my head, the girl is having these wide desperate eyes and worries and that is all I can see myself. But I am glad it is conveying my message. I didn't want a nightmarish card, but more to show how it feels when negative thoughts and worries overwhelm you and you can't seem to see the way out. That to me is the 9 of Swords.

missy, I love all of your cards! So vivid, like they're alive and the colors could leap off the screen. The shapes are wonderful, collections of abstractions and Platonic solids that combine into a fresh, new look at the archetypes. Terrific! The 8 of Cups is an especially meaningful card to me, and your painting is definitely my favorite version now!

Oh, thank you Bea! I'd love to do a full deck, and perhaps this is the way - a few every year for this forum, and others when inspiration strikes or there's time.
Without the pressure or committment of having to work on a single huge project I can now see it as being possible.

OK - thanks. In that case I shall rescan the photo and do a clean version (I had wondered why it was so crappy - then I remembered that THIS scan was one of many from my trip that I did for grandson's school project !!!!! and they had to be easily inserted into his work document, so....)
Two more to go. I need a suitcase full of money..... (to photograph.) I wonder if a bank would co-operate.....

hello marcia.....just returned to the US. have been in europe,looking at art and cathedrals. and taking photos.
the luminous dove card wins on many artistic and symbolic levels...it is going to be a very powerful and confirming card to pull. color and composition are exciting, yet relaxing and pleasing to the eye.
here is how i read it. the blue bird in flight brings a gift in the form of a blue ribbon, which winds its way into the core. very kundalini-like,very alive, kinetic,and electric energy draws inward to the center of a growing, living being...a flower. the energy drawing in an inward spiral simultaneously expands outward and propels the full bloom.
if you get a chance would love to know more about how you created the card.

But if they refuse you could always have real notes above note-sized sheets of newspaper, which are in turn above something bulky to almost fill the case.
(You'd probably have done that anyway...!)

As it turns out we were surprised by how much we were able to pull together in the house - including ancient demonetised notes from all over... I THINK it will work....

Well - I was THINKING about them and my photo collection while I was away.....
And lovely darling adorable papoon says I can keep the 8 Swords what I didn't ought to have done in the first place as long as I do the Queen as well, as he is short of time just now.
THAT will take longer, as I had no plans for her whatsoever. 
Glad these three hold up though :)
