The rather wonderful Sepia Stains Tarot by  Bethalynne Bajema

http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=26692043

seems now about to be published.  Bethalynne informs me that the cards are now being printed and she hopes to  have them all packaged within the next few weeks.

It looks to be a really beautiful and delightfully conceived deck.

Has anyone who ordered a deck got one?  I paid on October 8th and haven't heard anything since.  I tried emailing her and have heard nothing.

This may the 3rd pre-order I have been burned on.  I am beginning to think the "pre-order" is another word for "sucker!"

I have been in  touch with Bethalynne in the middle of November

She said  she had had some problems with late changes to the artwork and with the printer.

She apologised for the delay and said that she had no problem refunding.

I have heard that the Sepia Stains tarot is now printed and copies should be on the way shortly. From what I have seen it will be a wonderful production.

Oh! I love it. Were there only five copies? I was a little confused by the Etsy listing. Website link didn't have info. I can email her if no one knows.

Has anyone received a copy of this deck ?

Bethalynne informed me on the 22 Jan 2010 that she was shipping out the orders immediately, but that was over three weeks ago and I have received nothing.

She did not reply to my email about this sent last week.

I am beginning to despair that this will ever appear.

Does anyone know what is happening with this ?

It is nearly five months since she announced its publication.

As someone here can tell you - some decks seem to take for ever. I forget now what it was - but we both just had one that took longer than that.....

And I just got a Christmas gift two weeks ago posted from Canada (airmail) on Dec 14.....

I haven't gotten mine either.  And I'm here in the States.

I am really really looking forward to getting it.  If we get it.

I have just noticed a note on her blog showing three cards with the
note

January 28th, 2010

Nearly the last major arcana cards…

So it seems that on 28th January she was still working on the
designs   :z

So we might have some time to wait while she gets them printed !

The announcement of immanent despatch now seems a trifle premature.

Yes, 'Sepia Stains Tarot' does look "rather wonderfull". It's sort of the flip side of the 'Paulina Tarot'. Now I must have both! Thanx for bringing this deck to my attention Adam.

Hey, I actually got it!  Really, I did.  :ce

The cards and design is beautiful, the book is interesting.  Rather than a description of the cards, it's a biography of the characters in the cards.  The artwork is really lovely.

I had a few issues, like no signed card or edition numbers, but she said there were, they just didn't get added to my box.  And she is mailing them to me.

Basically I think the girl is a wonderful artist, but a lousy organizer.

My copy arrived today. It is absolutely wonderful.

Mine is numbered 4 of 10.

I do hope she does produce a larger edition, as it is too good for a mere ten people to own.

:ro  Don't miss out on this tarot   :ro

Thanks La-Luna! I actually contacted the artist/seller yesterday though Etsy and I got two replies:

Her first reply was:

The previous tarot decks I had for sale in my Etsy store were a part of a pre-sale of the deck that included the proto-type cards and a handmade box to hold the deck in. Those were numbered and signed and I believe I've sold all of them. I'm about to sell the final version of the deck though in simple packaging. I'm going to put this deck up for sale on Etsy tomorrow (Sunday the 20th) and you'll be able to obtain a copy then. Thank you for your interest and I hope that you like the deck ;)

And then I got this:

Hello again! I take back what I said, the deck is now available. The listing is:
http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=43116662

Needless to say I immediately hit the buy it now :gi

No, you're wrong.

It's 2 dollars more.

I'm STILL waiting for the rest of my deck.  She didn't ship it all the first time.  I've gotten stuff from Europe since she 'sent' it.

But, it really is a nice deck.

Her Web site seems to be acting strangely. I've brought it up in both MSIE and Firefox browsers, and the pages just sort of cut off, no scrolling down to see the rest. Is it me, just operator error? The Esty site still works,  her own site is the wonky one.

Thanks, Adam. That works, and the link from her Etsy store did as well. I don't know what happened, but the stored links in my browsers must be corrupted somehow.

Yeah, I finally got all of the deck!  Since I paid for it October 8th, 2009, I guess I'm glad it didn't take an entire year.

She said she was in the hospital, adn all kinds of other stuff.  but the communication was nonexistant.  I would email her 3-4 times before I got a response, very fustrating.  It is a nice deck, but it was such a hassle, I don't know if it was worth it.

Also, when I bought the pre-order, I was to get deck 5 of 5.  But when it actually came to it I got 16 of 16.  hmmmmm, I guess if you need money, just keep selling them as long as you can.

Oh well.

It took quite some time to receive the deck (I ordered it on the 21rst of March and just received it). But I can't just blame the author for that. My package was held up by volcanic ash :gi and the customs :sd.

The deck itself is great. She didn't send it out straight away, but within a month for sure.

Happy does not cover it, but happy to report that what problems with delivery speed seem to be resolved.  I received my copy today and it is eye-popping!  What a great combination of creepy and beautiful.  OK it's creepy if you have this thing about bugs...I mean, I sure never thought of ticks as a motif in tarot!!

I'm calling this one a must have.

I have a link on my tarot weblog.

My entire domain and the ettadiem.com site have been hosed on my host's servers.
I currently have to upload my entire site and my blogs are completely gone.
In the meantime I can only direct you to my new facebook or etsy accounts.
Please stop back again soon and hopefully this cluster-f@#k will be fixed.

Oh CC, I never knew that was you! Sorry you're having all this trouble with the sites. Sounds like you had back-ups of most of it, though? Makes me want to go back-up all my blogs. :(
