The only mention of the RWS  Pamela A, B, C, & D Decks - 1910-31
is on Holly's RW site.
I've never seen one or even heard of another person with one -

Never mind one for sale - so how rare are these?

Do they ever come up for sale & if so what is fair market value?

Some members on this forum have at least one, and a few have more. When they come up for sale, it's whatever the market will bear. If you have a few hundred dollars set aside, the bidding can begin. Unfortunately I don't have a single one, but someday......

Hello,

Ok, I am one of those members who has them all. I have the Pam A, B, C and D. And from the Pam A I have the Roses&Lilies version and the crackled back (which is very different).

They are difficult to find, very difficult. The market value differs for each one. The Pam B en C usually sell for around 400 to 600 dollars (last time I saw). But it could always be more. The Pam D is a rather poor quality copy of the Pam A and therefore is cheaper.. but still several hundred dollar.

The Pam-A is the deck that you have to pay the most for. I got mine for 600 dollars several years back, but the last few times I saw it on Ebay it sold for near 2000! The Roses&Lilies.. I couldn't give a market value to that one.. as there are only 2 known copies.. think more then 1000 at least again. Kaplan paid 8000 for his, I paid 1500 for mine (got lucky!!!)

Btw, there are more people who have one or several versions. Here on the forum are some owners as well. They dont come up very often for sale though.

I hope that give you the info you need.

1909 is the year Pamela Colman Smith designed and produced her famous Tarot.
It was in 1910 that author A.E. Waite published his pamphlet The Key to the Tarot,
re-issued (with illustrations) in 1911 by Rider & Co. as The Pictorial Key to the Tarot.

Check on AT - quite a few have Pam B's , I know of at least 3 members who have the Pam A and there are several threads.

The B's show up on Ebay maybe twice a year maybe? The A's less so.

I paid 600 something for my Pam B. truelighth always gets the bargains ; )

Cannot recall having seen C's or D's but then again, I don't always look.

Hope this helps!

LOL! :cl

Actually, I don't always get the bargains. I was lucky enough to get my Pam A,B,C and D before everybody wanted one and thus they cost me less. It's all in the timing, my dear :x:bl.

I have a Pamela C reprint, published in 1993 as the Original Rider waite deck

As Holly site does explain, that the Rider deck with the  black out of line, above the Sun card was what is considered the third printing.

They can be sold here if you want - but people would want good photos and authentication.

Got some photos done but cannot load as they exceed file size. Can I add a link to the pictures probably via pinterest. Any other advice or suggestions on how to do this would be appreciated.

Or maybe make them smaller, so you can upload them.

I am curious about the Pam and which version it is.

I hope the pictures are ok if you need any more done please let me know. All information will b taken on board including valuation and offers. I would prefer to sell all 6 decks at once but collectors will know best. cheers Eric

Ah, that Pam deck is the Pam-B. Nice one. I actually have one myself, but it looks in a good condition.

I understand that you would want to sell them all together. But I would aim to sell them seperately. Or at least the Pam-B. That one is the most valuable of all of them.

TruelightH Thank you for the information and confirmation the pam deck is pam B. As for selling I am open to options. If I leave the decks open to offers on here for a couple of weeks this will give collectors first chance. Hope that is ok.
