I enjoy watching what you all are doing! I appreciate the invitations; I'm trying to stay focused on other projects right now.  Thanks again, and keep posting cards! :)

I know you are trying to stay focused on other projects, but think....years from now when you are evaluating your tarot collection, there is going to be a BIG, GAPING HOLE where the Second Annual Tarot Collector Forum Collectors Decks should be.  And there will be nothing you can do about it. :sd   :nNothing.  And you will be so sad.  :sd

New version of the checklist up on the first page.  Let me know what you think.  I made BlueToy's Bold since he was the first to post a card.

Post low res to thread with pix, hang on to high res until we're ready to print.

Sound good to everyone?

I know how you feel, Nicole. And don't feel bad. I got some wonderful ideas too, but now.. how to put them into action. I can't even decide on the medium I want to use for the three cards I want to make. Wether I will go with digital collage or drawing or pastel like the last time... aaarrgghhh!:cc:v

Ya’ll have probably noticed I like lists.  Sometimes they’re interesting, sometimes they’re just a waste of time.  I am not sure which category this one falls in to.

There are 14 people with 1 card, 4 people with 2 cards, 7 people with 3 cards, 2 people with 4 cards, 2 with five and 2 people with 6 cards.  Names with smileys:D have uploaded at least one card.

6 cards - Gregory:D, Jackdaw
5 cards - Ambriel, Marcia959 :D
4 cards - Mr.la-luna:D, Quarkling
3 cards - BlueToy:D, goldenweb, Morwenna:D, Nicole, Skad1, starlightexp:D, truelighth
2 cards - acucent, Arnell, Kimber
1 card - blistersnbutterflies, Blue Bubble, Chronata, Demian Brennan-Gould:D, jbthehp, mythos, Palestrina, Papoon, rylla, sacredashes, saichele, Stefan, tantricknite, zookeeper

I have gotten a quote from the printing company that printed James Rickef’s Tarot of the Masters.  I have asked acouple questions and got no reply, so they aren’t terribly interested in the job.  But the cost to get a 79 card deck printed  (78 plus title card) would be:

 35 copies = 22.80 each
 50 copies = 18.20 each

So far we have 30 people participating in the deck, with 7 cards left.  :ro  So if Debra is going to get a card, she better hurry! :gi

The main question I have to the priunter was the size of card I requested a quote on was 3 x 4.5, but the size he quoted was 2.5 x  4.5, so the cards that are already done would have to be adjusted, and there is no coating on the cards.  What do you think?

Utterly confuddled!!!!

For example, I see 7 people with 3 cards, not 3, me among them ... and I HAVE uploaded a card!! *pouts*:ccETA: Oh, my smiley is here ... so that is good!

Costs are ok with me... I can trim the borders off my Queens, I guess, but will have to redo Strength (which I just about finished today, before seeing the different measurements :z)

Costs sound OK; I can shrink mine.... (does that include the setup cost ?)

Debra is adamant she isn't doing one. I will try ONE MORE TIME....

I also vote one deck goes to Adam for free.

Fixed my counting error.  Duh!  one, two three, four.. what's so hard about that sherry?

Don't make any changes until we know if we're going with the different size.  Does anyone have a Tarot of the Masters handy to measure and see what size his deck is?

I am going to email the printer again.

My 3 are all finished - I don't think I can crop them, and it's likely that the difference in proportion of the new size may be too great to stretch the two knights in Photoshop without them looking odd. I might get away with stretching Temperance, but....

Surely it would be possible to leave the proportions of the actual images the same and have the cards with borderless sides but borders top and bottom - or does the printer insist on borders all the way around? There are a few decks like this, but I can't think of examples right now. The price sounds OK.

Pen

Edited to add: Or just a narrow side border, otherwise a bleed would be needed on the sides of the images to avoid losing any during the cutting up.

If not - any artist who WANTED to do that could make their own special border ?

I can't FIND my Master just now... If I could only remember how it was packaged... I NEED my new furniture. But the review on AT says the cards are 3” by 4 ¾” - which is very close to what you asked for.... though that was for the limited edition

That's true, an extra bit at the top and/or bottom would alter the proportions. But 2.5" wide is quite small for the artwork when you consider that part of that would be borders.

I will go look for my Masters again.....

ETA yup - 3" x 4.75". And if they make an issue - the IMAGE part is 2.5 x 4.24. Maybe they can't bleed to the edges ? But mine is from the first printing, too...

Unfortunately, I'm going to have to re-neg on my offer to do the 8 of Pentacles card - just too much on my plate for the next 2 months(!!!) - perhaps I'll catch the next round.

Hi, I just posted a possible replacement 8 of Pentacles in the cards section.  As I said, if someone has one they like better, no worries.

Me too, but then all the cards have been pretty cool.  I have updated the list on the front page, and now I need to run, so it won't be updated until next Monday.

As I told Jackdraw, if you can't do 'em, you can't do 'em.  It's a whole lot better for us to know now, rather than end of July.

Maybe Sacredashes will want to do the Tower, since he gave his major to Mythos. Or Arnell, since she gave the Fool to BlueBubble.. just a thought.

Stephan is missing as well...

As per Gregory's comment... Adam needs a copy IMHO.

N.

PS- We do have until July to redo what we sent in, right?

Oh I had a fleeting thought (like most of mine)... how cool a concept would Helen Keller and Anne Sullivan be for either the Ace of Cups or the Queen of Cups...

here is the clip from the movie where she has the break through

Oh my. That is strange.....

I am assuming - like last time ? - that we each can use whatever we do for this deck in any other deck we create, yes - our OWN cards, not anyone else's of course ? Cos I shall use my 3s, I think :D. I have grown fond of them.....

Tower is yours!

10 minors left to be adopted.  They are the orphans, the poor sad ones who were never chosen.  The ones left standing when all the others were chosed for a team.

I can take one more, unless someone new is interested. How about the Ace of Swords?

I can take the 6 of Cups if no one else has a fondness for it.  Thought I'd try my hand at something more photo-shoppy.

Remember to post your information on the '2009 Info for the LWB' thread.  It's fun to see what the card means to the designer and what they were meaning the card to be.  (not always what our interpretation of the artwork is, so it's neat to see it.
