i dunno if this should be here or in the "main" section, so mods please move it if i made a mistake.
anyway, i also posted this over at Aeclectic. i'm currently working on a deck with that lengthy title you see at the top of the page. some of the images are featured in the exhibit we have here (the lovers card can also be seen in Major Tom's Tarot Lovers' Calendar too), but i opted on finishing the whole majors, and i plan to release them soon too. there are still some more cards missing, though i hope to complete them soon. the images are here: http://bluetoy.multiply.com/photos/album/1/Tarot_Whispers_at_the_House_of_Dusk
it's my attempt at a darker and more sensual style, and the imagery (and symbolism) used is a bit ecclectic, ang reflect the thoughts i had when i was conceptualizing each card. anyway, i really am horrible at explaining myself, though i'd love to hear (or read) what you guys think about it. :)

This is certainly different from the previous examples of your tarot art I have seen. I don't really see it as a "dark deck", as the artwork is more playful and does not really drag us through its imagery into the darker areas of the human psyche. The formal borders seem to work well with the artwork, providing a good frame for the image, and it is rather good how you have coloured keyed each border to the overall tonality of each image. This keeps a formal unity and at the same time provides diversity, so that one does not see each image within the same frame.
I liked the way in which you show the female figure in the Strength card, draped in a submissive posture over the lion and yet she is dominating him. This use of paradoxical or inverted imagery is a nice touch. The Wheel of Fortune caught my attention too, as you have dispensed with the conventional wheel and instead used the Classical Three Fates (Moerae or spinners of fortune) , Clotho, Lachesis and Atropos. You place in the foreground an earth globe which gives a reference back to the wheel and simultaneously to the spinning distaff. Your Death card is also rather inventive with its frame within a frame and the idea of death being carried by the portrait.
Your title Tarot Whispers at the House of Dusk is also evocative, enigmatic and intriging. It is a fine inventive tarot.

thanks so much for the feedback Adam. it's really appreciated. i'm glad you noted the paradoxical side of the cards. one of the other themes that the deck started with was "juxtaposed incongruous images." though perhaps this is not as evident in the other cards. :)

Beautiful artwork, Ly. What medium/media are you working in? It's hard to tell - they could be paintings or digital or a mixture of both. I love that aspect of the cards too - an added mystery.

thanks pen! they're mostly digital (hand-drawn line art, coloured in photoshop). i tend to make my digital art a bit "dirty" with textures and other nuances that come with traditional art, since, with my art, i'm not very fond of too smooth images (though i have no problems in appreciating it in other people's stuff). :)

PS congrats on your deck too. there's one quatrain from the Rubaiyat i always remember (about the irriversibility of time - moving finger writes, and having writ...) and its nice to see them enfleshed in your wonderful artworks. :)

A lovely deck - I'm very tempted. When will they be available? And do you have a publisher or will you self-publish?

So I ran across this deck in someone's forum yesterday and fell in love. I tried to buy some, but was devastated to find that they are all sold out.
i heard from someone at tarotgarden.com that you will be producing a second batch. is this true? if so, when do you think that they might come available?

What site did you order from? I really really want a deck. tarotgarden.com told me that they weren't even able to get them onto the website before they sold out.

I'm so sad! Hopefully tarotgarden.com was correct and they will be getting more in.

they said they're interested in ordering another batch (which will be the last for the Whispers, given the limited-ed run), though the "when" part still isn't definite at the moment. :)
