Hi fellow tarot collectors
I recently acquired an Etellia from Ebay France (by Grimaud), it came with a green box (which I am not familiar with, and had also looked online for more info about it)- but did not find much.
I was wondering if any of the collectors on here own a copy of this particular Ettellia deck and were more familiar with it.Attached Image (viewed 85 times):

Hi Wee Gypsy, Great score :-)
I have several copies of this deck, some older, some newer. Its probably the box and backs that date it as you don't appear to have a booklet.
Several different Grimaud decks were issued in green boxes that are very similar, and I believe they all came out late 1950 s, early 1960s based on info gleaned from other green box Grimaud decks. But some will tell you that that particular back design is earlier, definitely used as far back as late 1800s and up to the 1940s.
It is also known that decks were regularly printed in bulk and warehoused , eventually being sold in the packaging of the day.
Is there a tax stamp on number 62, the two of swords? This will give up two different time periods as well !
Dating decks can be very problematic!

I was thinking it was 50s or 60s (I have not got it in the mail yet) but I will have to wait until I see it physically. That was just an ebay picture. My hubby brought it for me, surprised me with it. But I will keep in mind what you have said too

I agree with Sumida's comments. That back was, in my experience, mostly from the 1940s. But as Sumida mentioned, it might have been stored and shipped more recently (1950s). Did you ever check for the tax stamp on the Two of Swords?

I agree with Sumada and paris_finley. I have a copy of the deck as well. I like the squared corners and thicker cardstock. Unfortunately the tax stamp is smudged.

The cards look same to my copy. but the box is different to mine. Mine is in yellow coloured box.
Also the back is different too - my copy has green coloured round strips design.
