Note: I now have the deck!
------------------------------------------
Tzigane by Tchalai
Hello! This deck remains elusive and so I thought I might ask
if anyone had a copy they wished to sell, or knew of anyone
who might be interested in selling a copy whom I could ask.
Really if I could BORROW somebody's copy (I pay postage)
I could make scans, and print my own...which is fun to do!
It does seem an imposition to ask someone for the loan
of a rare collector's item but I have made decks before,
the Muchery cards, and the original Oswald Wirth deck.
I enjoy these quite a bit so why not Tzigane by Tchalai.

It would be a deck, with 38 cards. Thanks!
Still looking...

It would be a deck - but originally came WITH A BOOK by the same name and author - and several people seem to be offering a Tchalai Tzigane - it just doesn't SAY if the deck comes with it, so you'd have to ask ! (Yes, I do have it, see..... )

I wouldn't mind sending it to you, but I don't have it. There was a website used to sell it, but now only the book is available. You can check it out at:

great website for French decks by the way,

Cheers, rylla! I have become enthusiastic about the possibility
of making my own copy using scans, just as a home project...
It would give the cards a fantastic Gypsy kind of 'aura' which
appeals to my imagination. I have all the tools, and the skills,
so I am hoping to make a new friend here, who will help me.
I can almost hear the wagons creaking in the soft moonlight.
Kind regards, Demian Last edited on Mon Jul 20th, 2009 10:25 pm by Demian Brennan-Gould

Greetings papoon!
Ah...I think the item listed now is not offered to Les États-Unis :(
I have a friend who was born in France and now lives in Germany,
and one of his special attractions in the realm of Tarot collecting is
Black & White decks~ and yet I couldn't interest him in this one...
which meant it wouldn't have been OK to say: Get one for me too!
And so I have given up looking for it on eBay France ~C'est la vie.
I've corresponded with two very respectable and highly excellent
eBay sellers who have many decks, a constant variety of A+ picks
at decent prices ~ but Le Tzigane by Tchalai has gone into hiding.
Here is a picture of the Oswald Wirth 1889 deck. A home project,
involving paper selection, printing, adhesive, and final varnishing.Attached Image (viewed 84 times):

C'est magnifique! Let's put on our Harry Potter invisibility cloaks and hope
the price remains relatively sane. Meet me at the "Whomping Willow" tonight...

Cheers, rylla! This is I think Le Book... the Description reads:
Ce livre est l’outil indispensable pour tirer et interpréter le Tarot Tzigane. Ce magnifique jeu est le reflet de la tradition si riche du peuple tzigane. Il vous explique une par une la signification de chaque lame, et son sens divinatoire, puis les différents procédés de tirage : les Kumpania avec 3 cartes, les tirages sans question et avec question.
This book is an essential tool to draw and interpret the Tarot Tzigane. This beautiful game is a reflection of the rich tradition of the Gypsy people. It explains one by one the meaning of each blade, and its divinatory meaning, and different printing processes: the Kumpania with 3 maps, prints and question without question.
