Some years ago a colleague told me of the source in
a novel, for the emblematic sequences in the Minors of
Pamela Colman Smith's and A.E. Waite's Tarot which followed aspects of the narrative in that novel.
Sadly, my memory had let me down and I cannot recall the novel nor its author.
Can anyone refresh my memory, I cannot seem to find the reference ?

Hello Adam,
The only Novel I can recall about Tarot is not about the Minors of Pamela Colman Smith's cards.
It is called 'The Castle of Crossed Destinies' by Italo Calvino. Published in English in 1976 and uses Illustrations from TDM and Visconti-Sforza decks.
There may be one published later that I do not know about.

Hi all!
I reply to Robalong's post.
In addition to Italo Calvino's book, there are numerous literary works based on the Tarot. I talked about these works in a chapter (Tarot in Literature) of my book "History of the Tarot" (2010).
Two of my fantasy novels, published by Lo Scarabeo (1988) and ArabaFenice (2012) are based on two different decks: Tarot of the Gnomes and Tarot of the Elves. About this see the blogpage

I don't know about a novel, but Mary K. Greer has discovered that the Minors illustrate the Masonic legend of Hiram Abiff and also Robert de Boron's version of the Grail legend.

Isn't there a novel each for the Major and Minor Arcana of the Navigators of the Mystic Sea deck written by Julia Turk the deck's creator?

That's right. Turk was writing a trilogy as a chartable (latitude and longitude) voyage through the pips, courts and majors. Physical voyage, spiritual voyage.

Turk was a sailor (I got the story from a mutual friend). She kept the copyright to her deck and the accompanying book, sold the deck herself, and put the book on disk. I read the first part of the first volume of her novel. Her web site is gone and I don't know what's become of her.

Hmmmm...am I being dense?
In 1997 I purchased the NTMS and a book that goes along with it. ISBN 1- 57281-023-8 Are we all talking about the same thing/book?
You know how you have secret decks, that ONLY you have and it is difficult to talk about them in a group, because ONLY you have that deck. I have several secret decks...They are not the same decks that say, US Games sell to you. I just know this..intuitivly...even Gregory does not have them..Heheheehe.

Julia Turk later wrote a three-volume novel voyage through the pips, courts and majors of her deck. She is a sailor & I believe also a boatbuilder. The voyage is chartable by latitude and longitude. Based on reading part of the first novel, I would say her major talent lies in the visual arts.
I purchased some fabric prints of her cards. A mutual friend had framed some with elaborate decorative matting and framing (see pics). Mine are sitting in a drawer waiting for me to devise something to do with them.Attached Image (viewed 63 times):

Someone has suggested the Llewellyn 2006 Tarot Reader... in which I gather::
Mary Greer lists her stories associated with the Minor Arcana.
Cups - the story of Joseph of Arimathea
Wands - the story of Perceval
Pentacles - the story of Freemasonry
Swords - the story of a) Galahad's failure to bring the Grail back to the world, b)the unbelievers in Joseph of Arimethea's band who were banished and c) the failure within Masonry to understand the deeper significance of the story of the Master Builder who is killed by his jealous brethren
Each story covers Ace through Ten of the particular suit.
