What do you think of the Sacred Isle Tarot?

I LOVE it !
Why do you ask ?
Seriously - I had the majors only and I was on tenterhooks for the full deck, given that some people promise one and it never happens.
I prefer the black bordered one, if that's relevant.

Thanks for your answer, gregory. I am asking because in my view it's a stunning, very beautiful deck, with a "medieval" or "high fantasy" theme, so to speak. But I don't particularly like a couple of the majors, Death and The Star. Why not a more traditional imagery for Death. After all it's inspired by Rider-Waite, am I right? And then, is that nudity in The Star really necessary? Just my two cents of course, any further feedback much appreciated. Last edited on Sun Mar 20th, 2016 04:00 pm by burroughs

The RW star is nude too. ''
I am entirely OK with artists doing different takes on cards. I did a different one myself ! But you can't have it both ways - wanting a Waite design for Death and no nudity on the Star !!

Agreed on that, but the Star in Sacred Isle Tarot could have more dignity in my view. As it is, it looks like it was taken from an adults-only comic book. And a bad one too. But I repeat, it's a matter of personal taste, it's art, not math.

I'm not a huge fan of the Sacred Isle Tarot but I'm not offended by the nudity at all, nor do I find it lacking dignity. Just out of curiosity, do you mean that you feel the body looks augmented with plastic surgery instead of natural? I'm just trying to understand what about it seems undignified.

Yes CharonCosma, I am not offended by nudity too, and if there had to be nudity I think that the Star could be rendered in a more "restricted" or "classical" way. Furthermore it seems somehow "out of tone" with the other majors style. Look at the Lovers, for example. The Star seems to me from a completely different deck.
