 A friend inherited a very cool deck in perfect shape. From the looks of it I think she has a 1906 Piedmonte.

Wondering if anyone here knows more - she scanned a card and back and the box (which is in pieces) -

If anyone has a clue what is a fair price or more info I would be quite grateful.

 Very nice.

Allesandro Viassone decks show up on ebay fairly regularly.
I'm going to guess that the tax stamp says "30 SET. 92" for 1892.
(I believe Debra may be able to confirm that.)

I have a 28 APR 93 version that is labeled "A. Viassone & Compagnia -- Fabrica Via Nizza 104" and with a different back pattern. Otherwise, it seems to be nearly identical.
I imagine the company moved between 1892 and 1893.

I believe these are letterpress, with stencil color.
More-or-less halfway between woodblock and modern offset lithography.

I have never seen one of these with a box.
To me, the box adds a lot to an otherwise fairly common deck, so it's hard to put a price on it.
I'd guess the higher side of $100-200.

 I just found my copy.

The tax stamp is a different image,  Mercury facing right, surrounded by RENO D'ITALIA PER L'ESTERO and dated 5 Feb 92; produced by A. Viassone & Compagnia + Torino; Fabbrica via Nizza 104 + Deposito via Arsenale

My Kaplan is not here but I suspect that one was for export and this might account for the difference in tax stamps.

Mine is halfway down, Mercury facing right, no monetary value on the stamp.  The site says it was in use around 1899 but the stamp is from 1892.  It makes sense, I have good evidence that it was in the hands of an English person for part of its life.

Whoo hoo, a discovery, maybe.
