Those are really cool boxes. I wonder if NoePotato Press has plans of having box designs unique to each deck in their lineup. That would be very exciting (and interesting).
From the scans I see, Il Meneghello makes interesting boxes as well, though the only Il Meneghello deck I have's the Corte dei Tarocchi, and the box that comes with is just the lidded one, not the many-ribboned affairs I've seen online. Still, I find the little blobs of sealing wax (seal and all) quite charming.

But for actual "cleverness," nothing I have beats the packaging of this rather odd Japanese deck of playing cards. It has an outer sleeve, which contains the main box:
The neat thing is that the main box in constructed in such a way that half the box can pivot to the left, causing a mechanism inside to cause the cards themselves to pop up:
Pretty cool. (And the cards are neat, too.)

On second thought, perhaps the cleverest packaging is Gianfranco Goberti putting that Lovers card on the cover of a faux book publish by a company called Assitalia.

Not very clever, perhaps, but in the US, Walgreens has put out their "back to school" supplies, including a small plastic index card case that closes with a snap. It just fits 78 cards if they're not too thick, and comes in various colors. Right now, 99 cents each or 2 for 99 cents. Fits a standard Rider-Waite: 3.5 x 5.25 x 1 inch. I use them for decks without boxes and for carrying a deck in my purse. To keep the cards from getting scratched, I wrap the deck in a slip of glassine paper. Holy moly. Right near the plastic index card cases in my local Walgreens (and I think they're basically the same) there are some long, thin pencil cases with a sliding drawer made of the same nice plastic stuff. They exactly fit decks like Tarot ni Pasasalamat ni Lynyrd Narciso or the Malkuth, for those who want more rectilinearity and protection for long, slim decks. Same price--under $1.
