I've won an interesting and nice deck on eBay it’s black and white with some areas and/or details that are highlighted in colour.

It's a limited edition major’s only edition of only 100 decks by an artist called Luigina Monteu-Gina.

She used China ink for the line drawings and for the colored accents/parts aquarelle paint.

Very nice, (now how did I miss this one?)

Does she give any info on perhaps getting them from her, or more auctions coming up?

I just got my copy last week and it is gorgeous. From my correspondance with the author I understand that she is working on the minors. So this may well be a complete tarot deck in the future. Fingers crossed!

I got ONE .... had to borrow money from the 'olds' for it ... but worth every owed dollar.  Now for the wait for arrival.

Lucky people,

I would love one too but there don't seem to be any left on ebay. Is anyone in contact with the artist ?

Hi Silva,

I don't know whether the seller is the artist, but here is the seller's email address: g.monteu@alice.it   I hope she doesn't mind me putting it here.  I could be due for a slap on the wrist. :ww Anyway, I hope this helps.

The seller is indeed the author. I have given her e-mail to some other people that wanted to buy the deck too. So I think she won't mind if you give her e-mail to people who are interested. Don't know about it being on the forum though.

I bid on the last one on Ebay and was out bid (I wonder by who......???)  Anyway, she sent me a second chance offer and I jumped on it!  This is such a nice deck.  I can't wait to see it in person.

:ce:ok

Thanks again to Mr La-Luna for letting us know about this deck.

So contact  has been successful and she shall be sending me a pack and invoice through Paypal. I mentioned the fact that I obtained her address on the forum and asked her if it bothered her but she made no comment about this and seemed most pleased about the interest we showed in her work.

She has no web site so I asked her to keep in touch about her artwork and other tarots that she may design.

Thanks again to Adam Maclean. First I discovered Oda's tarot and now Luigina's.

Oops!  My middle name is 'sniper' :?.  I am so glad you got a second chance offer Skad, otherwise I would be feeling awfully guilty.  Mind you, I wouldn't be feeling guilty enough to pass the deck on, but ..... guilty nonetheless.  Moreover, I don't feel guilty enough to give away the secret of my sniping activities either:hp!

Message I received  from Luigina :

Today is a busy day is'nt it ? ciao sylvie ,  I send the invoice and I have your address ...done
You ask me about other tarot ...now I'm working on the minors , I feel that a tarot's deck is incomplete without them....
but I know, he will take me longer than 3 months ( time for the major ) ....and then the prints ...
anyway...I don't mind about my address in the forum , on the contrary that means that people likes them , and that's fine...
Tomorrow is holiday , so I'm going to send you the deck on friday
I will let you know anyway ...CIAO  and tanks     LUIGINA

No problem, that's the way it works.  If I would have bid higher you couldn't have sniped me.  Guilt shouldn't play a part in it.  (well, alittle....)

As another collector once told me (when I outbid her): All is fair in Love and Ebay :cl

Nevertheless, I also feel a bit guilty when I am outbidding one of my fellow collectors and most definately one of my friends. I try not to, but sometimes it is just too tempting.

How can you tell who you're outbidding?

Now that e-bay is using codes instead of screen names, I don't find out that it was wvzookeeper who sniped me until it is over!

(For me, it's always wvzookeeper. Where the heck is she, anyway? Probably lovingly fondling those decks I was 50 cents short of getting....)

You are right, with the new codes, you don't even know who you are bidding against.

And wvzookeeper, I know her. She is a lovely woman, and very much a collector too. I am surprised she is not on the forum. Maybe I should point it out to her. I know she loves talking tarot.

I see, you are right. I guess she is a bit shy talking on the forum. I have gotten quite an e-mail exchange with her in the past about tarot.

Ah yes, I have lost quite a few decks to wvzookeeper too!  The lady just has deeper pockets than I have.  I also lost alot to tantricknite, manhattan9thgate, kymber13, luckydognyc, truelighth, etc, etc.  (Any sound familiar?)  I just hope that I have repaid the loss somewhere along the way.

"All is fair in Love and Ebay"  I like that!  :cl

Huh? Familiar? I don't know what you are talking about :bl:qq

I am pretty sure you repaid the loss at some time though... along with all the others I outbid. Glad you like the 'All is fair in Love and Ebay'. Always thought it was very appropiate indeed!

If I didn't outbid you on any auction, at least I won an auction or two where you were the seller!  I think you always have the most interesting decks up for auction.

I know what you mean about feeling alittle guilty about bidding against fellow members of the forum, not enough to stop me, but...  What I feel bad about is actually bidding against a member who told us about the auction.  I think it's kinda cheeky to hear about an item from someone, then go out bid them.  Tacky, ya know.:kt  :ww The second icon is how they'd probably feel.

Thanks for the compliment. I do try to put decks on auction that are not easy to find. Since I am hunting for decks all the time for myself, I come across others that I know are interesting and some of them end up on Ebay (or some of my doubles do). It helps with the habit of buying... well.. a little bit that is:gi

True collectors resist the impulse to tell others about a rare item on Ebay till they have it in their own hands.

I am not sure. I thought it was Susan Arenz or Fortuneteller2 or so. But it may have been you. It was several years ago. I mostly remember the quote, because it made so much sense. Gah, how bad that I don't even know for sure who it was...:v

Check out the members collections area, she just posted her collection.  Wow, absolutely wow.  It's almost worth losing all those auctions to see decks as part of a collection like that!

Oh-and I received the deck this thread is about, and it's as wonderful as everyone said it was.

After all this time, I started reading some posts.  quarkling asked me to put my collection on the forum, but I'm so disorganized and didn't start recording my decks until after I'd acquired many already.  They'll never make it on the list.

I'm a terrible sniper - I don't have a computer I can access at work, so I just put in a snipe price and and hope for the best.  I've lost many decks over the years to my fellow tarot collectors as well, but as quarkling told me long ago, they always come around again sometime.  And, they do.  Someday I would love to meet all the people that go with the ebay ID names that have been a part of my tarot life for such a long time!

Hihi, nice to see you post on the forum. It is really nice to talk to fellow collectors on here. And well, ok, warning.. I most definately got a load of decks that I wouldn't have had if it wasn't for this forum... lol.  I do hope you keep on posting:ro
