| The Four of Pentacles is a card that can suggest material greed, miserliness, or a desire to gain and maintain control. To represent the elements of the Four of Pentacles, I chose the Spanish Conquistador Francisco Pizarro, who in his quest for gold and power, defeated the mighty Incan Empire in Cuzco, Peru and murdered the Aztec Emperor Atahualpa after a roomful of gold was promised to Pizarro for Atahualpa’s ransom in 1533. In this card, the mighty city of Machu Picchu serves as the background, an image of Pizarro, hungrily holding his pentacles, hovers above the conquered image of Atahualpa.
