So the actual design I have to do should be 2,5 x 3,75 inch, right? on the diagramm it's written that this equals 5,29 x 7,94 mm - but this should be cm, right? anyway, the values seem to be off, too, no? One inch is 2,54 cm, no? so 2,5 inch should be 6,35 cm and 3,75 inch should be 9,525 cm, no? or am i getting something totally wrong here... Thanks!

Card size and ratio.  (Same as last year.)

This diagram is the actual card size and dimensions.  The dashed area is the border which will be done by someone else, your design area is 2 1/2 by 3 3/4 inches.  To make the final design look as good as possible, it is always recommended to work at a larger scale.  Then when the final design is scaled down at the end, it minimizes any little imperfections.  It just looks better.  The second diagram is the the card sized up twice size, just to give you good working dimensions.  You can work any scale you want, as long as the final ratio is 1:1.5.  In other words, 1 inch in the horizontal equals 1 1/2 inch in the vertical.

All dimensions are in inches

your design area is 2  1/2 by 3  3/4 inches  ( 2.5 horizontal and 3.75 vertical inches).  Convert as needed
